Isn't a big part of Wicca the rule of three? Where what you send out comes back threefold? So like, hexes and curses are heavily discouraged iirc.

I don't think some of them actually do research, which is kinda weird since whenever you go to learning sites for wicca they explain the rules in detail. Just follow the spells they put online and you'll be cool and in the group I guess.
 
Isn't witchcraft by it's very definition female/feminine? Men who use magic are called wizards or warlocks.
 
Is this individual genuinely attempting to pass?

If so, my heart breaks for them. Being totally non-passing is a big fucking problem. But I see now there is a 'thing' where it is transphobic not only to attempt to transition, but also to attempt to pass.

back when i had this weird spiritual like...rush i went out researching different religions via library books and google, and every single thing i read mentioned the creed (an it harm none do what ye will) and the rule of three MULTIPLE times, and how you have to believe whole heartedly in what you're doing when it comes to spells or...it won't work? it'll go wonky? i can't recall quite what was said. big emphasis on kindness and doing as little harm as possible to all living creatures.

i just find it really funny someone would use WICCA for curses idk lol
it's like buying a bike so you can use it as a stool
or a bondage gear tree
 
This person isn't using recognizable Wicca anyway. Wicca is VERY big on the gender binary, and the altar in the "altar tour" video has the seven-pointed star of Feri-tradition paganism, in which there are seven archetypes (still including "father," "mother," and "maiden," mind), which this person describes as "much more gender-balanced." (I believe it. Feri seems to be the initiatory tradition -- like Wicca, you have to be initiated somehow -- that LGBT folks flock to.) In Wicca as cobbled together from other religions by Gerald Gardner in the 1940s, there is a God and a Goddess, and there is a lot of cishet going on.

And of course, on the altar, this person also has a picture of the main Steven Universe characters; one of Pearl by herself, because they identify with her the most; and a botanica-style candle with RuPaul on it. (They hasten to add that they're not worshipping the real person RuPaul, but the idea of "Mama Ru as the great benefactor.") They do seem to have a ritual knife (athame) and wand on the altar, but as they also add a set of prayer beads that they made themselves in Buddhist style, sort of, with four great sins represented that they just kind of personally made up, I'm just going to go ahead and say that this is not a Wicca that most Wiccans would recognize as such even before you get to the hexing part. I don't even know what to do with the fact that their ancestor altar includes Leelah Alcorn and a picture of Santa Muerte, whom they have decided is secretly a male in "a fabulous dress," and thus "the drag queen of the underworld." (Not everyone on your "ancestor altar" has to literally be your lineal ancestor. I could make one of these and add my cousin, who was almost my exact age but has already gone off to wherever one goes. I'm just saying, that's almost even worse than naming yourself after Gwen Araujo and not knowing how to say "Araujo," if only because we expect more of people who aren't Phil.)

tl;dr Has taken a tradition and bent it out of all recognizable shape anyway. Why don't they just join Feri? It's way better than Wicca if the gender binary harshes your mellow.
 
The fluffy fagans like this dude piss me off so much. They have no right to use a religious concept of fate like wyrd which most of them are monists, monotheists (Dianic) or duotheists and reduce many ancient deities who's cults were essentially religions of their own into masturbatory archetypes meant to mostly serve human ego. I can't wait for polytheism to rise again and the first allu ackbaring of a Wiccan "temple", new age shop etc.
 
I've been waiting for the troon community to find Wicca.

'Serious' magicians find these attempts to synchronize sjw-thought with Wicca hilarious and shallow. The metaphysical concepts of masculine and feminine definitely do have direct physical correspondences (dick and puss), and there's only so far away from those you can stretch before you're not even practicing Wicca anymore.
