I beleive they are remembering something from a documentary called the jumping man where they showed a man jumping from the building. They tried to identify the man and the family refused even with dna evidence to beleive it was their family member since suicide was against their religion.

I will tell you though there is a lot of stuff that was never reaired. I will never forget watching the news as the 2nd plane hit and the reporters freaking the fuck out live on camera. The repoter was like "and here comes our news copter" and then she realzied it was not a news copter.

I was watching Blameitonjorge’s Disturbing lost media from Reddit video.https://youtube.com/watch?v=SCwFGKj3N24@12:21
I got through the 9/11 archive segment where he talks about an old shock video called “LOL Superman”. It was supposed video footage of people who jumped the towers and hitting the ground. I feel like I’ve watched it when I was younger but then again, as Jorge said. There was a lot of edgy 9/11 video back then on YouTube that people might’ve misconstrued together. It’s either real or completely fake/misremembering of similar videos. If it’s real, maybe some older Kiwi’s remember seeing it back then
I've seen countless parodies of 9/11 and have been around the edgi boi parts of the internet for ages, and I have never heard of that before.

The original Jeopardy series hosted by Art Fleming ran for over 2,700 episodes from 1964-1975, and less than one percent of that exists in audio or video form today because NBC reused the tapes to save money. This was a common practice for daytime TV in those days, and there are many more examples of game shows as well as soap operas that have had thousands of episodes wiped.

Sad truth of television. This is why dumpster diving became a profession.

A-Logs stand up comedy. There were two videos, I'm fairly sure one exists, but the worse one has disappeared. It was the most painful, dense cringe I have seen in my entire life, I had to watch it in 15 second bits. I'm sure you all have heard the rumors, its worse than I could possibly explain. He tells about Chris Chan memes to an audience who has no idea what the fuck he's talking about, bombing hard as fuck while JULAY'ing. In fucking public. Maybe it's sign of God's infinite mercy the file has been incinerated from existence.

Not so sure if they are remembering just one thing, it may just be a combination of clips of 9/11 spliced in with non related jumpers that one person has just mis remembered, i believe LOL SUPERMAN is just as much of a myth as A day with spongebob squarepants was, just more edgier tones

I only rediscovered this video a few days ago because some russian gopnik asked about it on twitter and someone sent it to him. I remember watching it on YT in like 2008 or 2009 but then at one point it and the channel it was on disappeared.
In case some other dumbass is searching for it it's called "The Way Of The Way Of The Way"

'I dont want to hear anything about you having sex with chickens anymore'

What a bizarre sentance to have to say to your own son.
I want to watch this video, goddammit.

I'm aware we have the genuine audio recording now, but I would like to see Christine Chubbuck's suicide out of morbid curiosity. I don't have much interest in gory lost media but this one sticks out to me.

Another one I'd like to see is Theda Bara's "Cleopatra". 41 new seconds were uploaded in September (starts at 00:36):

NSFW but not really.
A 22-year-old man known as Benjamin Vanderford recorded a fake video of his execution in 2004, when the Iraq War was still ongoing. He fooled so many journalists and people that even Al Qaeda and other jihadist groups reposted his fake video online claiming that they captured an American soldier. How was the video made? The blood was dye with food coloring, the place where the “execution” took place was just a garage in San Francisco, and the “executioner” reading his manifesto was actually just an audio tape playing in the background. I tried searching, but all I got was this blurry screenshot.

One of the more interesting pieces of lost media to have gain some attention recently is the lost full raw footage of the Mexia supermarket disaster in Fort Worth Texas. Basically the place went bankrupt after poor money management. The owners fled without cleaning up the aftermath. What ensues is 3 months of rotting decaying food in this abandon supermarket with the absolute worst smells possible. Flys, roaches and rats are everywhere and the clean up dress in their hazmat suits had to go through isle after isle of clearing out the rotting everything inside.

The only available footage of this incident was used in the food episode of Life After People.
(Sadly could only find the britbong version and not the James Lurie american narrated original)

Any possible chance to see the full footage original footage would be an interesting experience to say the least.

Being a 9/11 obsessed teen in the early/mid 2000s, me and my friend spent hours looking through 9/11 videos. There were always ones that said "Jumpers hitting the ground" or "never before seen footage" and it was ALL stuff that we still have access to now or suicide jumps not from 9/11. The most graphic footage is still the footage from that couple across the street that's available in HQ on youtube or the video from the firefighter staging area where you can barely see one PING off the railing and a shower of blood. People are 100% misremembering.

Maybe this is the right thread, I've been trying to find out wtf this is. These pictures were posted as "screenshots" in the cyberpunk 2077 thread as a joke some time before release.

It looks like they're from some kind of movie production, maybe, and I have made a couple of attempts to reverse image search them but I get nothing. Not even a shitty aggrate site filled with random junk. There is NOTHING!

Halp!

It's a World Peace era MDE skit. This thing I'm pretty sure:

Does anyone have the youtuber I'Hypocite video on Michael Jackson by chance? It was a really important video on discussing the origins of the accusations made against him. Why Michael Jackson is innocent and brings another part of his life into further context. It was a really important video that I wish can be found somewhere on the internet.

There's a lot of stuff on YouTube (and others like Flickr) that has disappeared over the years but I'm almost more interested in the obscure shit that sits in my memory banks.

One program I remember from circa 1997-1998 was supposed to visualize a child's nightmare, or something, and it was weird.

The kid's bed was flying through the air, then showed how the kid's arms were belted to the bed, and then even showing a pinprick from a injection. I'm not sure how it finished--that's about when my parents turned it off.
