This doesn't really make sense tbh. If, as you allege, the main body of her fanbase as Gura was lolicons then I don't see why switching characters was necessary and if her primary goal was to milk them then streaming more seems like the obvious move, but her output for the last few years was pretty subdued. It seems much more likely that her goal was to escape the corporate yoke and she was confident enough of her audience would migrate to keep her afloat. She went from 4.7 million subscribers to 1.2 million so if her main objective was sitting on a dragon horde of pedophile simp dollars then this seems like a silly move.

I've seen a lot of better avatars for mocap live2d stuff that aren't corpo stuff. I've actually seen cases where people's model gets worse when they swap it out for the streamer network corpo thing. I can't remember exactly who it was but there was someone someone posted about like a few months back in maybe one of the vtuber threads somewhere that got a corpo deal and kept their mocap "character" where the rigging was significantly worse than the previous model. Also less unique style but that's another story.
