With the new season of Youjo Senki coming out this year, I was curious whether you guys think the show is pedobait? Personally I think Tanya's design looks too retarded and funny to have been intentionally designed to be attractive and I don't remember the show ever sexualizing the character

Which sucks because despite having some definitely disagreeable things about it, I actually think it's a pretty fun and decently written show and it's kinda sad that probably the discussion around it will probably be dominated by the gooners this thread discusses.

Not really. It's a very Japanese satire about their nightmare corporate culture, illustrating that the C-suite are more suited to never-ending brutal warfare than civilian stewardship. However, the male protagonist manifests as a precocious little girl with all of his memories intact, which is a popular pedophile fantasy on the likes of reddit and discord. I wouldn't call it lolicon or even adjacent just for that, though. It's not like he cares about anything other than climbing to the top of the military ranks.

Very little of the art on pixiv or any of the booru's resemble how retarded and weird she actually looks. Even if the author draws her to look like a duck, gooners will just circumvent it as they did when the series first came out.

I've never actually watched this show before, even though I've seen it come up hear & there. I didn't even know it was a guy's mind in the girls body, I assumed it was like "what if a little anime girl was literally Hitler"

That's unfortunately something that'll happen to everything. Lotta kids shows are sexualized by the people who watch them but I wouldn't always blame the show for it unless the show had obvious fetish bait in it. There's people that make porn of Ayna from Spy Family & I never saw anything in the show suggesting the creators would want that. I think its Becky, Anya's friend, that they like because she has a crush on the father, Loid. Weirdo's will sexualize things regardless but I think Becky gave them an excuse to be brazen about it. I haven't kept up with the show since season 1 but I struggle to imagine a reason why that aspect of Becky was included unless they were pandering to that crowd.

idk it felt more like a dumb kid thing that got brought up & then kinda dies off by the end but I haven't watched past S1 either so I could be wrong. I remember some lolicon that got brought up in here was specifically posting porn of Anya which is why it stuck out to me.
