In hindsight I don’t think either of those are less open. Just everyone was too autistic to notice the obvious tell. You know like the 45 year old mr. Rogers like dude in the Nintendo cap partying and sharing hotel rooms exclusively with high school students.

I wasn't nail on the head with my prediction, but it's moving in that direction. Do boys and girls toys aisles even exist anymore? I don't have kids and don't go in big toy stores and the trend I've noticed is that there are just toy aisles. There is the creative section with all the Crayola stuff and coloring books. Legos are together, Marvel action figures are together, Barbies are together, etc. Am I wrong or are they once again fighting a battle their leftwing professor told them about that doesn't actually exist anymore? Little kinds like things they identify with and want play as. 99.99999999% of 6 year old boys don't think they're girls or di-gender pansexual polykin and don't want to be them, they want male superheroes. It's also all about marketing. Kids are more inclined to like what's being advertised to them and shocking as it may be to the woke degenerates of the current year, Barbies don't sell well to little boys.

It's pretty much that. The aisles aren't marked 'boys' or 'girls' any more, but girls toys and boys toys are still kept, mostly, separated.

If I buy presents for my niece or nephews, I go to general shops rather than toy shops, but the aisles are pretty much as you describe - Barbie and her ripoffs are together, then beside them might be Transformers and Transformers-adjacent stuff, and then My Little Pony, and then Action Man (the UK's GI Joe) etc
