I was under the impression that gay people wanted to be intergrated rather than being called out for being different. This video just makes me think that kids who watch it will feel that being gay would make them even more detached from everyone else. Wouldn't you want to be seen as the same as other kids in school and be part of their group? This unicorn metaphor makes it sound like she's saying gay people will be always be pushed away from society regardless.
Well done Lindsay. Great work on making gay people more isolated.

I also don't get this overuse of the word "queer".

This is also (besides her UGLY REPUGNANTLY HATEFUL FACE tbh) my major issue... calling kids "queer." However one feels about that loaded term, it's something for adults to use to define themselves (or at worst, for irrelevant academics to use to describe unreadable chunks of theory). It's just not a word that should ever be put in front of the noun "kids."

I do think the ever-increasing overuse of "queer" to describe all sorts of dumb random shit is a big part what led to this disgusting pedo using it in this context.

The over utilisation of the word queer make me laugh because I saw some shows where queer was beeped, and now this girl is using it in a show for kid

SJW want to be unique little snowflakes because they crave attention. It doesn't cross their mind (or they ignore the fact) that people might actually want to integrate with society and not stick out.

Reclaiming the word "queer" by adults that can choose who they do and don't hang out with, what social circles they do/don't partake in, and who are fully autonomous human beings that make the choice for themselves and choose to live with whatever consequences arise is fine.

Forcing it on children, who will have it hurled in their face by their peers as an insult for the next 10-15 years and have their self-esteem and self-worth ruined by it is child abuse.

I doubt the kids or that woman actually understand what that word means.
My friend went to Japan once, and some store that was supposed to sell sea-themed trinkets was named "The Poop Dick" instead of poop deck.

I'm glad to see fuck science, feelings has hit NG.

And I'm going to start drinking before noon.

Another insane identity politics diatribe from our resident pedo scholar.

For those who would rather get cancer on site without giving it clicks:

Define It
Privilege is an advantage given to a specific person or group of people over others. These advantages are typically given because of how our culture treats people based on their race, class, sexuality, gender identity, religion, mental health, and ability statuses.

Explain It
Here’s a great metaphor for you. A teacher places a small trash can at the front of the classroom and puts a white sheet of paper on each student’s desk. The teacher tells everyone in the class to crunch their piece of paper into a ball and try to throw it into the small trash can from their seats. The kids at the front of the class make it in easy, but only a few make it in from the back. The kids in the front row were poised to make it in from the very beginning, when the kids in the back had a much tougher time with the same task just because of where they were seated.

In our society, the people at the very front of the class are white cisgender heterosexual able-bodied (meaning people without any physical and/or mental differences) upper class Christian men. Closer to the back of the classroom are LGBTQIA people, people of color, people with low economic status, and people with diverse ability statuses, among others. Our identities in these categories intersect with each other and the system they are a part of to place each of us in our specific seat in the classroom.

Let’s take a quick look at my identity for a second to see where I would be: I am a white cisgender queer Jewish able-bodied woman from an affluent background. These qualifiers define the areas where I have privilege and where I do not.

I have privilege as a white cisgender able-bodied person from an affluent background. These identities put me closer to the front of the classroom because of how our society favors these traits.

I do not have privilege as a queer Jewish woman because of homophobia, anti-semitism, and misogyny. These identities put me back a few rows. I would probably end up somewhere in the middle of the classroom: better poised than some, but less advantageous than others. From there, my ability to “toss the balled up paper into the trash can” is my potential to find success in life, whether that’s in my basic survival, my education, my finances, my work, my hopes, dreams, ambitions, you name it.

Debunk It
The biggest misconception about privilege is that you should feel guilty about having it. It’s just not true. You cannot help your privilege so there is no use feeling guilty. What you must do is be aware of your privilege. To do this, make a list of your identities (like your gender, sexuality, race, abilities, and socioeconomic status) just as I have above. Next, look at the ways in which you have privilege and the ways in which you do not. In the areas where you have privilege you must pay it forward to others by advocating for their rights and trying to change the system we are stuck in. In the areas where you do not have privilege you must stand up for yourself and set yourself up as a leader with a strong voice for your community.

For example, I am an able-bodied person who helps run a theater company where I make work for people with developmental differences. This is paying it forward. As a queer woman, I write for My Kid Is Gay and create queer content for children on my YouTube channel. This is my advocacy and leadership within my less privileged community.

I’m not saying you have to drop everything and become an activist if that’s not your jam. But there are small ways you can help that can still make a real impact. If you are white, make a point to talk to more people of color and listen to them whether it’s at your workplace or on social media. If you are straight, talk to your homophobic relative and teach them why what they are saying is hurtful so a queer person doesn’t have to go through the pain of that conversation themselves. Donate to charities and organizations that need your help. Call your representative and express your opinion to your elected official. Leave a better tip for your server at your fancy business lunch. These small acts may not feel like they make a difference, but they absolutely do. These small acts are how you change a system that fails so many. These seemingly small acts can affect real change.

Do not let your privilege weigh you down with guilt and regret for what you have (or don’t have). Let it boost you forward and inspire you to help others. Be the person in the front row who asks the teacher to move the trash can and re-organize the chairs so everyone can have an equal shot.

I know the golden rule of the farms is not to get angry at cows, but it's very testing when someone is saying it's good to fuck kids and you are bad for wanting an adult hetro relationship.

It's very testing.

Now to her little metaphor, most classrooms don't have assigned seats and I counter with this : https://www.altoona.psu.edu/fts/docs/SeatingPositionGrades.pdf If you earn your privilege by taking the right seat to do better is it still a privilege? You got to class early to get a good seat, so is that privilege?

I want to give her points to say don't feel guilty about your privilege but she's a gross kid diddler so I award her nothing.

LOL when I went to highschool, we considered the coolest seats to be at the back of the classroom, like in a cinema, where the cool gang sits in the back.
Being chronically un-hurried -- and thus constantly arriving late -- I usually got to sit right under the teachers eyes, which occasionally resulted in me having very thoughtful discussions with him/her.

Another insane identity politics diatribe from our resident pedo scholar.
[/SPOILER]

Here's a slightly more sane but just as tl;dr anti-identity politics diatribe to try and bring balance to the universe or w/e.

The most dangerous thing about identity politics is that it treats all disadvantages as equally disadvantageous and vice versa. In her super lay model, Lindsay essentially equates each disadvantage as moving a person one row back and each advantage moving them one row forward. That is not how this shit works IRL. In actuality, someone can be so ridiculously disadvantaged OR advantaged via a single metric that it essentially removes them from the equation all together. A good example of this, that SJWs fuck up to a comedic degree every time they talk about this "arithmetics of privilege" shit is disability and class.

A cishet white dude could be horrifically physically disabled to the point they're unable to provide for themselves but to the SJW, not only is that 4 steps forward (cis, het, white, male) and only one step back (disabled) making them still super privileged, but the disability would only be viewed as "just as bad" as someone who totes has PTSD for real you guys from reading mean tweets.

Similarly, does anything think people like Jay Z (net worth: 610 million) or Dr. Dre (net worth: north of 700 million) experience racism the same way a poor black person does? What about a poor white person living paycheck to paycheck being told that they're still the most privileged group on the face of the planet? It's hard to feel privileged when splurging means buying Kraft mac n' cheese instead of store brand once in a while.

Jews are another example of this mentality. Like yeah, we face antisemitism. On the other hand, we're also viewed as a model minority and are generally higher up the socio-economic flagpole than other ethnic minorities and have a disproportionate representation in everything from economics to entertainment.

Why is this? Who knows; I'd imagine it's a cultural thing that starts young; much like Asians (another model minority that also has a leg up in socioeconomic status on average), our parents tend to set high expectations and push us hard to be successful. I've faced some extremely minor annoyances with people sperging about da j00z a handful of times, but to hear Lindsay speak, it's like being a member of the tribe is LITERALLY JUST AS BAD as being a black person in Jim Crow-era Mississippi or some shit. I would imagine calling her on this would result in another TL;DR diatribe about how it's problematic to imply one non-white race has it better than another non-white race because ~intersectionality~ or whatever.

Shit like this is why Trump won. For every edgefag who voted for him because of dumb shit like white nationalism or whatever, there's dozens of rust belt workers who *literally can't afford* to buy into identity politics nonsense. Intersectional social justice is a luxury for people who don't have to worry about getting evicted along with their young children right as winter is approaching. Even the non-white minorities in that situation that Lindsay tries to advocate for don't give a fuck about Lindsay's brand of activism. Go to Detroit or East St. Louis or West Englewood in Chicago and start hassling black people who live in what often appears to be a literal war zone about how they're privileged for being cishet and to check their gender privilege and shit and see how long it takes for you to get the shit kicked out of you.

[:autism:]To be fair in the pilot episode 2 of the main characters spend about 5 minutes sperging about whether the word "girl" is anti-feminist and it comes off as hella preachy, so she may have a point when she talks about the characters being ~so woke uwu~ .She seems like the type to enjoy a superhero show that was basically designed to pander to Tumblr.[/:autism:]
