Even if someone did talk to a kid about LGBT, the kid will just forget about it a few hours later. I don't see how teaching a kid with a barely developed mind benefits anything, especially since they'll naturally learn about it as they grow up. It's like Lindsay thinks the kids will stay kids forever. Maybe that's what she wants...

Also, how awkward must it be to meet a couple who refuse to gender their child?

They're not guessing, though. They're picking up exactly what Sugar is putting down.

The Rebecca Sugar quote I offered is part of an exchange from a panel she was on. She was asked directly, clearly, and unambiguously what inspired her to include LGBTQ themes and themes of women's empowerment in Steven Universe. She responded by saying it's because she's bisexual, and then goes on to say what I quoted, with the implication in context being that she wants LGBTQBLT kids to feel represented and to see people like themselves loving and being loved.

There's even a video of the exchange:


What she did not say when asked what inspired her to include LGBTQ and women's empowerment themes in Steven Universe was some bullshit about the gems being genderless constructs, so they're not really women or they're not really LGBTQ or whatever.

I have no real dog in this fight. I don't watch the show and I only know of it second hand through observing Tumblrinas and other online SJWs. I'm just going by what Sugar herself said about the show's obvious themes.
 
I'm glad I'm not the only one getting a really creepy vibe from this chick. I remember the children's shows I watched when I was a kid (in Australia) and they didn't talk like she does. It's like someone trying to relate to a kid but doesn't understand at all what they are doing.

I'm worried for the generation being brought up on or being heavily exposed to all this SJW rhetoric. Who will then find out later that it was just a trend/attention seeking and it was eventually dropped by the people who were pushing it.

This is one of those things that is so obviously wrong to do, that going into details is like trying to list reasons the nazi party was bad.

There are actual couples that have done this. They refuse to gender their child, give them both girl and boy clothes and toys and say "they will decide what they want to be". Last time I heard, some Canadian couple did this to their son who is now wanting to be a girl full time although he's only eight so what does he know?

But here's the thing, you can't force gender on anybody.

There's the famous case of David Reimer who after a botched circumcision as an infact, his penis was destroyed. So the doctors and his parents decided to treat him like a girl, snip his balls and later on in life he'd get hormone shots. Well things didn't work out well for young Joan as she was now called and she suffered from terrible depression, hated dressing like a girl and finally when she turned 14 wanted to be known as David once again and start living as a boy.

Same with a pair of conjoined twins from Burma named Lin and Win. They were joined at the pelvis and one was effectively turned into a woman because they only had one set of male genitalia. So Win was became a girl. At age 10 she decided that she was a he and has been living as a man ever since.

Being involved in academia myself, one of my secret delights is seeking out "publishing houses" that anyone with an eye to promoting their work as a serious academic endeavour would run from. Lambert Academic Publishing is one such publisher. In fact, they are notorious for being amongst the absolute nadir of the academic publishing industry. Pretty much an author mill, Lambert rip theses "as is" into book form, print on demand and sell their pap through the likes of Amazon. There is no editorial input, no peer review, no proof reading, no critical dialogue in the preparation of the manuscript of any kind. This publisher cons the intellectual rights from recent graduates and academic "wannabes" and rush prints the poor sod's efforts, no matter how bad, out the door at a ridiculously high price point. There is a community in the Dominican Republic where people have a genetic deficiency in an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This causes boys to be born without male genitalia and are known as "Guevedoces". So the boys, despite having an XY chromosome, appear female when they are born. At puberty, like other boys, they get a second surge of testosterone. This time the body does respond and they sprout muscles, testes and a penis.

Despite being brought up as girls; they would still exhibit typical male behaviour, show interest in things males are usually interested in and almost all showed strong heterosexual preferences
