Do people really say "hella" every five seconds in the pacific northwest?
Hella yes.
Episode 2 came out yesterday. I played through it and it wasn’t bad.
I feel like this story would benefit from having more than three episodes. The pacing is too slow, and even though it’s 2/3 of the way over, it doesn’t feel even close to completion. They’ve got all these subplots building up and there’s no way they’ll be able to resolve them all in a satisfying way by the next episode. Say what you want about the quality of the first one’s ending, but at least the pacing was better and they had a better OPPORTUNITY for a satisfying conclusion.
Why can’t they do more? Since it’s a different company working on this prequel, there’s really no excuse. Dontnod can work on LIS 2 while this other company puts out Before the Storm episodes in the meantime to tide fans over.
Thing is, a lot of the subplots I was referring to aren't in the original game. I'm optimistic about episode 3, but I'm not counting on a satisfying conclusion, either. The problem with this new season it's it's technically Life is Strange 0.5. I've not had a chance to play it yet, but I suspect that some of those subplots won't be resolved in EP3 and will instead be tied back to the first season which you pieced together during those episodes.
I actually reckon that DONTNOD is being given an actual budget for LIS 2 as the first season was an unexpected hit for the company and there was a longer gap between some of the original episodes.
