A month ago, I'd have agreed.
They lost the right to a hands off policy when they fucked with our entertainment. As they say, in the end it's about the content, and they fucked up our ability to get it.
Clearly, they've been given too much consideration.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating we go the /baph/ route, but there's a happy medium between being a psycho and letting them feel safe enough to act out like this.
 
Thanks for bringing it back Null. ED forums was a poor replacement, I like our autistic screeching far more than theirs.

Whoever it is, Vordrak or not, they showed they weren't stopping at just a shutdown. They wanted to know we were listening. Well, we are.

If you have to have that sad of a life that you hold an entire family tree hostage over a website, that's pathetic. Like, just kys at that point.

There are rules and restrictions on dox already, like not doxing under 18 people or other Kiwis who aren't halaled. Doxes unrelated to lolcows aren't relevant and aren't usually done here. It's not like this site doxes indiscriminately.

Releases of real name, other accounts, location, and even workplace are considered dox material and are often very relevant to content here. If you want to make a valid argument for not posting home addresses or other specific information, go for it and I won't argue. Whatever rule you propose though would have to be one that's universally applied, otherwise it does not work for a site this size. Trying to decide who's a terrible enough person to warrant full doxing would spur an insane amount of argument and would essentially destroy whatever lulz were to be had by the content in the thread.

Don't complain unless you have a solution.
 
Personally I kind of hope doxing is punished or discouraged more strongly in the future. Maybe it's just me but I don't find it adds much to a lolcow thread besides being there. Just my opinion, we'll see what happens moving on.

Again, you're going to have to be more specific about what you consider "doxing". On other sites, just posting someone's pictures or name is considered a dox.

Welcome back, Null! We knew you had balls. Never give in to the threats of a bully. I've done it before in a very public IRL situation, and it's one of my biggest regrets in life.
