Protester struck by SUV displaying Trump flag at Fremont High School
A girl who was part of a protest against ICE taking place at a Nebraska school is injured after being hit by a vehicle displaying a Trump flag.
UPDATE (9:00 p.m.) - The story was updated to reflect new reporting that the girl is a student and that the SUV drove past the protest multiple times before stopping.
UPDATE (5:15 p.m.) - Fremont Public Schools issued a statement saying that a non-school-sponsored, student-led demonstration started around 2:00 p.m. School administrators were supervising with the goal of ensuring that students were safe and peaceful.
“We value our relationship with our first responders and their help today. We will continue to work together to keep our students and community safe,” stated Dr. Brad Dahl, Superintendent.

FREMONT, Neb. — A girl who was part of a protest against ICE taking place at a Nebraska school is injured after being hit by a vehicle displaying a Trump flag.
It happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Fremont High School. Dozens of students were part of the protest and were holding signs and chanting. A red SUV with a Trump flag on the back drove by the protest multiple times. On the final pass, a boy, who appeared to be high-school aged, parked the SUV in front of the school, got out of the vehicle and exchanged words with the protesters. He then got back into the SUV, revved the engine and drove forward.

A girl, who was a student, was in the street and holding a sign. A video from a witness shows the girl moving toward the vehicle. While she was still several feet away, the driver accelerated and hit the protester, knocking her to the side. The driver stopped briefly as a school administrator approached, then drove away from the scene.
NCN's Veronica Sandoval was on site covering the protest and captured video of the incident.
Police and paramedics responded to the school. The girl was loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher and transported to a hospital. She was alert, talking and smiling while interacting with first responders.
Students and others continued the protest after the incident.

“When you see it in real life, when you see it happening right in front of your eyes, it’s a different shock,” witness Evelyn Martinez said. “I’m still very shaken.”

Depends on the state. Nebraska is more conservative though and I doubt they'll throw the book at the kid over hitting a retard who didn't know it was a bad idea to stand in front of a moving vehicle.
 
Stand nothing, she ran right into it. I have no idea what she thought the play was gonna be there, unless she figured the driver would have amazing reflexes and slam on the brakes within the eighth of a second of her bolting in front of his SUV so they could surround him.

People should understand that justice is not zero-sum and being innocent vs. being not guilty are different things. Rachel Good likely would not have been charged if she had survived her encounter with ICE, and if she had survived (let’s say the agent missed), the agent would not have been guilty of any crime either. There are situations where a crime is in some sense committed (in that case an ICE agent getting assaulted) but nobody ends up guilty. This is by design of the ‘beyond-a-reasonable-doubt‘ common law justice system we set up for ourselves.

Many many people made mistakes in this.
* I bet the school &/or one or more of the teachers encouraged this protest. The principal didn't shut this down.
* teenagers act like teenagers and make stupid decisions all the way around on all sides.

* Driver circled back around the protest over and over again. He wasn't just passing through. I bet it was a student. Stupid kid.
* He did this in Minnesota, not Florida at what I bet is his own school, at a protests I expect that school administrators actively instigated.

* Woman (teen girl student) runs TOWARDS the front of a car, in the middle of the street with the SUV actively driving forward.

If he is lucky, Minnesota will be soft and let him off for being a kid. He could get expelled from school. But they might get crucified as the protestors city wide demand blood from a Trump supporter.

* Girl is more ecstatic with her victim points that injured.

As a side note, if you get in a traffic accident and you don't feel safe, go ahead and leave, but I would make your destination be either the first safe location that you can, then call 911 and report the accident, or drive to the nearest police station and call your lawyer. While we are at this, set up a relationship with a lawyer just in case life throws a shit sandwich at you.

It's complicated, but the American South? Just wanted to keep slavery to an extent end states rights. However, the N's reason for not wanting slavery is they just didn't like blacks. The radical. Unlike ICE operating under the auspices of federal law and thus MAGA protection, this kid is not immune to a persecutory State/local prosecutor. Luckily for him he's in the fairly red Dodge county, Nebraska. He's probably fine, a slap on the wrist is likely the worst he'll get, something like reckless/careless driving, and that's if he can't argue that the chick in the road was being enough of a dumbass to absolve him of the majority of the guilt.
