Being openly gay doesn't make someone a flaming obnoxious faggot. Plenty of gay guys are openly gay and you'd never know they were unless it was brought up directly. Bisexual female here. No preference either way, but I do eventually want a family (with kids of my own *planning on going to a sperm bank on the off chance I marry a lady* and house) and it seems most of the women I'm into are a.) not into me, b.) don't want a family in the future and/or c.) polyamorous.
With this in mind I generally stick to men and will likely never come out to any male partner as being bisexual because that's when they start thinking with their other head and pushing for a threesome. No, I'm not into that.

Due to scheduling and course requirements making a perfect storm of garbage, I had to take a "theory" course at college recently. It was incredibly cursory because it covered multiple schools of theory (psychoanalysis, feminism, race theory, disability theory, etc) and the professor made no attempt to hide his biases.
I could go into detail about how the race theory and feminist theory segments manage to be racist and sexist, but let me tell you about the worst school of theory:
QUEER THEORY.
Not Gay and Lesbian studies, not even LGBT studies. No. Queer theory. Not only is the removal of anything to do with actual homosexuality in the name a dumbass move, but they went with the fakest part of "LGBTQ". I know "queer" is supposed to be a reclaimed slur or whatever, but I'm from somewhere where we played "smear the queer" as children, and if your high school classmates were going to harass you from their pick-up, "queer" was usually the go-to. So, though I guess some people have reclaimed the term, I still have a bit of a kneejerk reaction to hearing it. I was going to write about how the content of the segment disgusted me, but to prevent textwall I'll put it in another post.

Hearing what "queer theory" consists of makes me ashamed to be a fag. All of the figures we read about in queer theory are absolute weirdos.
Off the bat, we talked about "gender" way more than we did about anything related to homosexuality. So, that colors it in a re-tarded light already.
There was one guy who was poet who described in detail the time he invited strangers to watch him masturbate while he strips naked and covers himself in bees.
Another bastard even went out of the way to define queer as "anything that goes against the normal."
You know, nothing to do with homosexuality. In the eyes of the "queer theorist" in question, any gay people who just want to be a normal, functioning part of society do not experience hardships and are traitors to the queer cause.
I ended up doing some extracurricular reading about some of the people we read about, and was disgusted to find numerous connections between "notable" "queer theorists" and NAMBLA or just generally pro-child-fucking sentiments.
I'd do things like actually fucking back up my claims here with sources, but I am so done with all this queer theory shit and I never want to read anything about it again.
