It was illegal in Britain until the 60s or 70s.

It really annoys me that they don't focus on this stuff at Pride Events.
i fully agree, pride should only be about the history with some bonus family friendly entertainment, hell they could steal a page from madigras celebrations and do history themed floats, however in terms of throwing stuff off said floats that is up for debate.

Picked up a few books on leather (because of course) and I've skimming through them for a couple minutes. I'm not getting the best of impressions. They read like bad tumblr posts, as if you're expected to read them and take every word uncritically. The only exception so far has been Larry Townsend's Leatherman's Handbook, but I think that's because I've already skimmed his book before. I'll have to give it a more in-depth read. Might be back with book reviews if I actually go through reading them and I don't let them sit on the shelves. So far the newer ones come across more like the hyper woke public leather pageant shit that's more for trannies, "queers," and eunuchophiles. It's always the "educate yourself on queer history" TRAs advertising books that barely even educate the reader about "queer history" and just parrot contemporary TRA slop instead with the same bluesky retweet slop published in a book, with it being in a book the only credential for being considered "academic." I don't know how to put it other than it feels like a forced meme, or I guess it's just literal propaganda. One of these books includes a literal grooming guide (it calls itself a grooming guide. I thought it was for hygiene at first) for progressive politics, espousing "empathy" (in the woke intersectional therapy-speak sense) a requirement for all leather mentees. I think it's rather disturbing, but these types have always been drawn to us, haven't they? Chasing a childish fantasy of a hedonistic life, like a grown adult trantifa supersoldier sitting at the computer eating pizza rolls all day while practicing xer keyboard warrior skills because "SCREW YOU CHRISTOFASCISTS!!", all that. Miserable people.
It should just be: 1. Sit in gay bar 2. Get proposed by a suitor 3. Wrap your willy and enjoy. The problem is that everything will get politicized nowadays and that non-binary sickos just flood these places.

They should just have a normal outdoor party that's family friendly where everybody hangs out.

Gonna go off on a tangent here as this reminds me of how I discovered I am allergic to leather, at least in direct and extensive contact with my skin. Years ago in my youth I met this guy who I really fancied, but discovered he was heavy into BDSM/ leather, thought well if this is the only way I can get with him I'll give it a go. Well in that session I discovered that;

1) I'm allergic to leather
2) I cant stand pain (already kinda knew that)
3) I cannot inflict pain on others
4) I cant stand being restrained/ bound/ tied up in any way

The whole thing degenerated into farce, we gave up up and over a cuppa afterwards he said that I was the most uniquely unsuited person to BDSM practices he'd ever met LOL

A niggerfaggot is someone who identifies with whatever this is

I feel like adding queer to the lgbt acronym is when shit really started hitting the fan. I know slippery slope arguments are retarded, but that shit was a slippery slope that just led to people putting anything on the acronym and act like you were always oppressed/part of the community. Maybe id be fine with the Q if it served as a containment for the rest of the bullshit, but no, it's progressive to cover up the actual people that this community was for with meaningless pity towards indigenous people.

Anything beyond 'lesbian, gay or bisexual' is just mentally ill. Trannies never belonged. When I see 'queer', its usually some annoying attention-seeking fag or greasy gender blobs in a polycule that haven't washed in a days. Its also synonymous with people with tons of piercings. Celebrities and women misuse the label because its performative.

I was watching a video on YouTube that was about a gay guy who was well known in the 90s who ended up dying (Not that Matthew Shepard guy but that is a whole other story.). It was a decent and informative video that covered a period of history I remember quite well.....and then he said "queer."

LOL, instant turnoff.
