I had this series in the back of my head for a few days and that's because it finally clicked: Star Trek TNG did it better. In the episode Tapestry, Picard gets time travelled back to when he was a cadet and instead of starting a bar braw where he gets stabbed in the chest, he avoids it and by returning to the present it shows that he led a nobody's life a a science officer.

Picard as we see in the show is the result of him being a daredevil when he was 17 and slowly maturing into the man he is today.

Why bring all of this here? Because Isekais fucking have their cake and eat it too. "I'm reincarnated into the body of X" but I retain all my memories and personality from the other world. What makes the author think that doing so will make the character become someone remarkable? I've never seen an Isekai address the body/mind problem, you never really stop developing until you're in your mid 20's. Your thoughts are affected by the state of your body e.g. when you're 10 you think all girls have cooties, but what happens when you're 13? How is the main character even able to have an attraction to anything when he hasn't reached puberty yet?

The only growth Rudeus could possible have is not being a cp-loving piece of shit and what would that change? He still got his get out of jail free card by erasing his past. Now, if there are chapters in the future where he gets to have his past come after him? (like his brothers also reincarnating here and never letting him live down what a vile creature he was on Earth or maybe have Rudeu's soul that he hijacked come back demanding the life that was taken from him)
