That video was made by Contra Points, who's part of the anti-anti-SJW sphere along with hbomberguy, Shaun and Jen and Garrett (Jabba the Cuck). Basically, it's just the usual left-wing argument of "free speech isn't free" dressed up in slightly new clothing. The overwhelming takeaway from the video is: "Do you want to defend women and minorities or do you want to defend racists and misogynists?" again ignoring the fact that racist and misogynist are terms that are applied to literally anyone who expresses ideas that are slightly right wing. I also think it's funny the video got taken down as people in Contra's sphere have been pushing for exactly this kind of censorship, but only when it's against the "right" people.
I agree that Dave Rubin should have more people from the left on his show, but the reason he doesn't is the same reason Cassie Jaye didn't interview too many feminists for The Red Pill. These people don't want to talk to someone from the other side. That said, I do hope he has Contra on the show because Contra's shown that he (she, it?) is willing to talk to people from the other side (see his discussions with Blaire White and Roaming Millennial).

The section of the forum for let's plays is sort of active, it seems to get a new post every hour or so on average going by the site stats. Particularly "active" threads seem to get about a hundred replies over their lifetime (most seem to only get around 40).
The rest of the site is pretty dead.

it still seems to have the problem that most lp's seem to be cross posted from SA, so unless they start to get people from outside SA to post there then there will be very little reason to post there a few months down the line, they basically have to build up a large enough producer base that is just larger than the SA equivalent. For example even Jenner came back to post on the SA LP board after a month or two.
Jenner was a random poster who acted overly dramatic about the doxing of SA users when lowtax tried to wrestle control of his forums back and tried to martyr herself so kiwis said she was a troll/plant and lowtax banned her. Basically the lp zone seems to pander to her tastes and besides void, psyche, kamoc she probably had the most reason to stay away

It was closer to the latter, but it was also sort of an evolution to shit that was going on anyway.
So two things used to go on in the LP forum's early days (this was before slowbeef was moderator):
1) Slowbeef would get drunk and call a bunch of people on Skype, and they'd sit around and bullshit and make fun of LP Forum people (or each other) for hours.
2) People would make bad SA LPs, like clownbirth's Peggle debacle or Super Metroid Redesign, but redeem it by getting co-commentators to shit all over them for comedic value.
At some point these two things sorta combined into what would eventually be Retsupurae. At the beginning, it wasn't so much "The Slowbeef and Diabetus Show" so much as it was slowbeef poking people on Skype and seeing who wanted to shit on some bad Youtube LPs. As someone who normally shit all over bad SA LPs, I said yes because why not. And so started Retsupurae.
Edit: In fact, the whole making fun of Youtube LPs may have actually originated during those group Skype calls (informally, as in "hey everyone, check this garbage video out", and then people would make fun of it). I can't remember for sure though.
Edit 2: Also, I don't want to imply those "group Skype calls" were some sort of SA LP circlejerk. I want to clearly state, for the record, without any question, that they were absolutely a SA LP circlejerk. 100%.

Not technically a Retsupurae, but probably that god awful Christian Flash game trilogy me and slowbeef did. Trapped, I think it was? I had a lot of fun with that, it was a hilariously bad game.
As far as actual RPs go, I can barely remember most of them. Crap answer, I know, I probably could have given you a better answer a few years ago.

I actually ask because regretting one's words in old videos seems to be trendy with SA LPers being that we're now far out enough to look back and social justice demands self-flagellation. I know Voidburger is broken up over an ancient RP where she makes gay jokes and Chip considered going back and putting trigger warnings on his riff of another flash series because he called one of the poorly drawn animes a faggot.

If you mean is there anything I regret as far as being overly offensive? No, not at all. It's always kinda weird listening to yourself, but not because of anything I said, just in general.
The only thing I regret is any joke that didn't land. And some of the BillyMC stuff but I mentioned that before I think.

Actually a pretty good answer, as Trapped was probably my favorite Retsuprae in general, followed closely by Wario Ware Inc. and Monster In My Pocket, which I believe you were also in on. Given how it seems Retsupurae is seemingly steering towards more "advertiser friendly" content, I'll always miss the old days of not giving a shit over who got upset because their terrible LP was getting ripped apart.
