I remember this one. Sanctimonious cunts, the lot of them. I remember the Retsupurae they did on I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream and pretty much went rabid painting Ellen's scenario and backstory as the single most traumatic and terrible one, obviously because rape. Oh, this dainty little flower, how they have hurt her so. Pretty nice showcase how SA wasn't "infected" with what would then come to be called SJWs but rather always had that shit going deep inside, come to think of it. Still think back warmly to missing the ring toss, pal.

Nimdok's scenario literally shows him preforming surgery on children in a Nazi concentration camp where people are shown starving to death but they reacted stronger to Ellen's because she's a black woman lol.

Isn’t this the same game where another of the main characters is devolved and will-broken to the point that he is no longer human, and is then given his sentience back just so he can fully comprehend how horrible his situation is? I’m sure they’d have just chalked that up to a natal penis-haver getting what’s coming to them.

Just as it takes lack of self-awareness to be a lolcow, it takes a terminal lack of perspective to be a goon.

I think the Ellen episode is them fumbling hard in their attempt to make a funny bit. The Nimdok episode is the same joke but better, still eh.

The nanosecond the implied rape sequence stops they go back to normal.

Does anyone know who is the tranny that plays multiplayer games with Slowbeef called Evelyth? It just seems to have popped out one day.

In the game that can happen to any of the main characters (it happens if you get to the final area and fail).

In the story it happens to Ted as punishment for for finding a loophole in the rules and getting to mercy kill the rest of the cast so they didn't suffer any more.
 
Nah he's right. Benny is devolved into a primitive ape man in the short story because he used to be a scientist and it's ironic punishment on AM's part.

In the game the focus is more on his physical disability since they changed his backstory to make him an army commander. Probably to avoid overlap with Nimdok.

then yes, they altered at least the focus his story in the game (I would argue nothing in the game would contradict the short story; after doing his stint in Vietnam he could have gone on to be a scientist) and the fact he was a queer was still there just in under tones. IIRC it was implied he took his self-loathing out on one of his soldiers who was implied to have also been a fairy, and left the door open that what set him off might have been rage at having a supple twink bussy near by that he didn't dare snatch.

I think they changed Benny for two reasons:
1) It was the early 90s so "Vietnam Vet PTSD & Trauma" was a very hot point to talk about for fart-huffing cred given the end of the cold war and Desert Storm.
2) It was also early 90s and I think focusing on Benny being a queer, as well as all the other mature themes in the game, would have made the game to radioactive.

You saying this made me remember that Benny actually has a line about the five being forced by AM to navigate a wasteland to find food. The food was all inside cans and they weren't given a can opener. Which is of course the main plot of the short story.

So it seems like the game in general is an alt version of events where AM was able to prevent the five from killing each other. Or at least Benny wasn't driven to a murderous rage like he was in the novella.

Genuinely, IHNM might be the only Wrongpurae they did where the game and its writing were more interesting than their commentary. Which imo is another reason it was kind of a mistake. That's a series I've never gone back to.

I don’t know. I can also see Ellison going full current year wokescold and vociferously repenting on the altar of CURRENT YEAR for the evils of just being a dude in the first place. He’d probably alternate between bitching and moaning about the state of the world, then taking to Twitter to own the chuds like we keep seeing John Cleese do.

My take was the short story was yet another failure. AM let Ted believe he'd killed his fellow prisoners but failed.

I found this a bit strange too. I was going to try to watch the first episode of the actual series, but then I heard "alot of us changed in the last 15 years, some more than others". I think i'd rather die then hear about Jon's fetishes.

Entertainers of any kind should be legally barred from discussing themselves in any fashion during the creation of content. I don’t care and don’t want to hear about some troon’s journey to explore his inflation fetish in his videos about bing-bing-wahoo any more than I want to hear about Tom Hanks’ deep personal struggle with being an involuntary eunuch in the middle of Saving Private Ryan.

Do your job and entertain your audience and then have the good grace to allow them to go back to their lives without forcing them to think about your weird ass. Hate the culture of celebrity so much, and the illusion of Internet fame has made it so much worse.

How is he in person? Is he a good sport about having been a punching bag for a community of retards for years? Wood always came off as kind of spergy and had "Redditor opinions" before that website even existed, but unless there's some scandal or something I'm missing he seems like as far as the long haul goes he probably came out ahead of all the goons that trashed on him. After all, I don't think Retsupurae had a PAX booth.
