It's mean and unfortunate but...racist? How?

Same thing happened to Jennifer Lawrence and she is whiter than white.

Also there was a thing a few weeks ago when Orlando Bloom had pics taken with his tiddler out and everyone was like "OH THAT ORLANDO BLOOM"

It actually has the exact result they want.
After all, it's not about making the world a better place through dialogue, it's about feeling special, enlighted and -above all- morally superior and smug. And that is most easily achieved by a plethora of insults and buzzwords fired randomly at anyone that disagrees for any given reason.
 
But in the long term, the words are going to have no damn meaning anymore!

I hate to use 4chan as an example, but they call each other fag and nigger so much that it has lost meaning as a slur, it's a just term to use like any other word.

In the case of fag/faggots they've almost always used to refer to anyone rather than as a slur for the most part. It can almost be a form of affection between anons in some cases (in a weird chan sort of way) .

That said normalising a slur is kind of different to an accusation of wrong-doing, and can be a more positive thing. During the civil rights movement calling a black person black was a slur or a term only used by detractors of the movement - James Brown then released a song called "Say it Loud (I'm Black and Proud)" and black people adopted the term instead of letting it be a slur. They basically took the power away from it by going "yeah so?"

This current situation with the left is more a case of "Boy Who Cried Wolf" - People will care and come to the rescue so many times but they will start to wonder after a while or just get plan tired of running everytime someone cries "Oh no it's a sexist/racist/ageist .ect"

I agree. I'm not necessarily a fan of Leslie Jones, nor have I felt any desire to see the Ghostbusters reboot. But whatever you may feel about her as an actress or a comedian, she didn't deserve to have this happen to her. And for fuck's sake, I'm disgusted with all the comments here calling her racist insults like "Harambe", "Kong", "oogabooga", etc. This isn't fucking 4chan, peeps. We should be better than that.
