As some people pointed out, she'll never get banned. Twitter is 100% on her side and on the side of anyone else who represents the cause of Social Justice. That whole site is basically Tumblr-lite by this point, the difference is it's forced its way into the mainstream.

I would like to bring up the fact freedom of speech does not apply to anything not involving government. The First Amendment only means you can't be jailed for speaking out against the government or for holding controversial opinions. It doesn't say a private business (in this case Twitter) has to tolerate insufferable behavior from its customers/users/employees.

That said, Leslie's racist, infantile tweets deserve a ban given the precedents Twitter's used to punish other non-liberal users.

I don't think the word "traumatic" should be used. "Traumatic" implies that something actually terrible happened to a person. Not "someone hurt my feefees".

The First Amendment is a protection of freedom of speech, it isn't the definition of freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is a concept, and is protected by the First Amendment specifically because America's founding fathers felt it was one of the universal rights granted to all men by God, not a privilege granted to them by the government.

While it's true that the First Amendment doesn't protect you from being censored by private entities, private entities censoring you is still a violation of the concept of freedom of speech. And while obviously some lines need to be drawn, it's obvious from this instance more than ever that twitter draws the line at "being of the wrong political persuasion", not at "is abusive, racist, inciting, etc."

I mentioned it in one of the other threads that I wonder if part of the issue is that these chumps have never really faced any hardship, suffering, or oppression. So as far as they understand Dad saying he won't pay for your "I HEART TRANSDOGKINS" face tattoo is literally the same as a lynch mob.
