So are socialism and communism, at least as far as the actual economics and not the clueless idiots who believe it just means they'll get an endless supply of free ponies and never have to work again. Ironically the clueless consoomer idiots who believe communism and socialism will mean they never have to work again and want an endless supply of luxuries are part of the reason those systems don't work as advertised.

Even though this isn't funny, there is some validity to it as a critique of libertarians and ancaps. Corporations shouldn't be viewed as inherent allies to free market advocates. Of course that view isn't an essentially part of libertarianism or anarcho-capitalism, it's just a trap that many libertarians and ancaps fall into.

They took a soyjak meme about idolizing something ridiculous while hating something similar that is more sensible, and they turned it into the exact opposite. Some may find religion to be ridiculous, but it’s not the same as believing that one’s life is determined by constellations.

I just think it's lazy and shitty that they keep recycling meme characters that were designed to represent something else. Soyjak is made to represent a very specific kind of left leaning "geek" consoomer we all recognize, and that kind of person is basically never a devout Christian. At most you can have him represent an anti-feminist fedora, but not a fundie. His look and the vibe that surrounds him is all wrong. It's like if someone made an office sitcom where one character wears a German WW2 military uniform because the director was able to get a cast down from a WW2 show for free, but nobody on the show ever mentions it or notices and it never becomes a part of the plot. That's just not the right way to make a show. Although that would at least be entertaining and kind of funny because of how weird it is. This isn't.

That is my exact point. They don't care about the tactics, only that they're the ones getting a taste of what they've been salivating about for years. They want to make their own attempt at a Cultural Revolution/Great Purge, and then act shocked when people do something not even half as bad to them.

The worst of the actors aren't acting shocked, they're just exploiting common decency and a skewed narrative to get normal people to support them.
