This was done on purpose by the eternally leftist regional goverment to save money to spend on vanity projects and infinity niggers.
They always talk about climate change but never about quality of air and water or managing the land.

Both, +20 years ago or so when the mainstream left wasn't as cucked and contorted to appease everybody most good memes were coming from there because the right was mostly milquetoast neocons and unironic bible loonies, but then the left fucked itself over with gender and race politics and not just adopted but went absolutely dogmatic with "clean" humor, that is humor that is not offensive to them in any way, so all lefties became unfunny shits and all unfunny shits who can't take a joke became leftists too.
Neolib meme, the left its still ambivalent at worst about Stalin and neolibs are not just ultra-zionists like neocons but are also still salty about some of the most socialist aspects of FDR, since they are still a pro-corpo party and all.
