I was curious about "Right-wing authoritarians are more likely to be pedophiles and zoophiles" since personal experience (on the Internet, natch) has shown libs to be more tolerant of such things, so I checked the source: https://knowingless.com/2021/10/26/political-compass-fetishes/

The page shows a few pretty graphs, but absolutely zero information as to the testing methodology. How exactly was this test conducted? There is a "Raw Data" link in the sidebar, but it links to a blank page, so no access to the data to build your own graphs for you. More worryingly is a "Twitter Polls Full Archive" link which links to a Google Sheets page. Was… was this poll conducted on Twitter?!

At any rate, I'm sure the other cherry-picked sources are similarly factually rigorous.

My doubt has only turned into confirmation that most of these "facts" have been refuted.

Also if I EVER become a monster like a pedophile or a zoophile, I'd want to either kill myself in the worst way or have someone else do it. 1. I would never want to harm a child in such a severe way or turn them gay and 2. I love my dog too much to put them into a horrendous reality like Furries do.

Dominant racial group has higher media presence, this is somehow a sign that entertainment is racist. But humiliating legacy characters to make way for new "heroes" that check diversity boxes, that's just about representation and not a clue that maybe the media hates the once-dominant demographic.

Also, Keanu Reeves is Eurasian, so great work damaging your own point.

Minecraft players are acting out their autistic compulsions, at least some open source coders are engaging in projects that allow them to experiment outside their usual corporate sanctioned program languages/environments/whatever, and wikipedo editors are vying for clout. Granted, that clout is useless outside of wikipedo, but still - I'd argue the only category without a direct motivation to gain anything is the volunteer firefighter. Performing civic duties belongs into a different motivation category.

I could make a point that the people on the fire brigades are often individuals that want to do good, and being able to save lives and be regarded as a hero for it is a pretty strong motivation. It certainly helps that most firehouses tend to have fundraisers to keep the lights on, since volunteers ready to respond to house fires are important in small towns where a dedicated department is usually too expensive.

Also, I’ve never seen anyone that would willingly shovel shit all day if there wasn't some form of compensation for it.

Most open-source projects of any complexity have some level of corporate funding and sponsorship. There are people who make a very good living off of working on open-source software. Often it's funded by selling licenses for "enterprise" versions of the software or services such as on-call technical support.

As for Minecraft players, the things they make are generally useless outside of the game, and often useless save for aesthetic value inside of it too.

If these are the same charts that Jreg talked about in a video, they're based on anonymous people self reporting their political affiliation and fetishes.

The problems with THAT methodology are obvious.

There's also an important distinction between something like an "ageplay" fetish and actual pedophilia, for example, and I wouldn't be surprised if the leftie meme maker is falsely conflating the two (AKA, lying).

Some Wikipedos also do what they do to spread propaganda, because they don't have the credentials to get paid to spread propaganda as journalists.
