1) They don't really own there home in the way they do in most of the western world.
2) They can be removed from that home at any time for any reason, most of the time that reason can be as petty as not giving a gift to the local party chairman's niece on her 14th Birthday.
3) Chinese money is jacking up the price of housing in the west, you have to be chinese or in partnership with a chinese national or company to own property in China.
4) We have devalued our currency's and had real terms stagnation in regards to income for the last 25 years, while prices have done nothing but go up - China hasn't they have gone from a essentially worthless currency to something highly significant and managed to keep prices low mostly by ignoring basic safety and environmental regulations.
5) Millennials and late X'ers in the west entered the job market during the largest depression in 80 years, with companies offering little in the way of job progression while demanding multi year degrees for jobs that dont need them, who wont pay or assist in any way for meaningful on the job training, and the Boomer that where in the job's working past retirement age because they didn't want to take retirement in a recession, China doesnt have this problem and has benifitted from the West's financial and cultural woes over the last 3 decades.
6) Job's that are worth a damn are hard as fuck to come by and with "Service jobs" being the mainstay that doesnt suit everyone or have the constant thread of Offshoring (a really shitty idea with shitty results) or the sword of Automation hanging over there head combined with the shitty wages people don't really give a shit about the job they have so will half arse it and management wonders why people are not enthusiastic, in China they have a real diversity of jobs even if the conditons are shitty and your not allowed to be unemployed without a VERY fucking good reason and they will force the issue if you get recalcitrant.
People have been trying to weaponise sound and radio waves since there discovery and it wouldn't shock me to learn that somebody finally cracked it outside of Signal Saturation or masking, and turned it into something approaching a battlefield weapons system, I know there is that M-Wave system that some police have been trying out where it doesn't harm you unless your incredibly disciplined and don't react to feeling like you have lots of angry ants crawling under your skin but that's slow to take effect and suposedly the power consumption is so high they can't deploy it in large enough ways to disburse crowds but can be used to target serious problems in crowds.
Oddly enough I read something online about a theoretical weapons system that could generate sounds and pulses that could be used in areas that are susceptible to liquefaction, this was supposedly first conceptualised in the early 70's. In the First World War we dusted off some old theoretical warfare stuff we came up with in the 1880's about air bursting shell's above the snowline to cause avalanches in moutain regions and we gave that data to the Italians who used it to burry Germans under thousands of Tons of snow and the Germans tried to do the same but the Italians realised that they would twig the tactic quickley so actively caused smaller ones before hand to stop them from doing it effectively. Other than War Crys that's the first practical use of soundwave as a weapon that I am aware of.
So if someone can cause physiological distress to there enemy without obvious trauma that is a real game changer.
