After a recent Berkley rally in which everyone who wasn't Antifa was beaten and harassed, including other liberals who didn't approve of their use of violence, and reporters who refused to follow their orders to stop filming in a public place, liberals are now Ramsey Snow tied to a chair being encircled by starved dogs.

He makes a point not many have that I think gets at the root cause of the decline of the media on all fronts, laziness.

Why go out in the field and take notes and interview when you can watch it on YouTube and get some names from Facebook?

The decay of journalistic integrity isn't some nefarious plot by the left, it's the inability of these people to do their jobs, mostly because nobody ever taught them.

Remember they like to say shit about "punching Nazis" but they're more just about the punching. They don't really care much about punching actual Nazis. "Nazis" just means "someone I'm punching for no reason."

That definitely sounds like part of the reason, but I always thought the root cause was cowardice.

This is laziness beyond not going to the protest. I haven't willingly been to any event that antifa decided to ruin but it's not like there isn't plenty of online evidence that lets journalists suss out the truth. It's not even hard to find, it just requires they step out of the echo chamber they've constructed for themselves for all of a minute. You don't need special training beyond a high school education to figure out how to do this, but they'd rather preach instead of inform.

The root cause of the decline of media over the past 30 hears is, and always has been, the concentration of the industry into 2-3 metropolitan areas and the willful abandonment of objective reporting in lieu of spinning narratives.

It's really worth restating that media people are really, really, lazy and dumb.

Once I worked at News Media Outlet.

There was some Big Local News happening and as I was the guy who pushed buttons to make things happen I was being asked how long until the newsroom of about ten people had some new content about Big Local News.

So I dashed over there and asked as nicely as I could "what the fuck are you speds doing" and they hadn't even bothered to call the public information reps of the local emergency services. They were waiting to be sent a press release or AP content.

I think we have to come to terms with Twitter becoming The Warp from Warhammer 40K and, even if it only exists as a manifestation of humanity's minds, can open rifts into our world as violent acts of war.

24-hour news is also a big part of it. They created a ratings void that must always be fed with the next big disaster no matter if they had something fitting or not. News started to lose its integrity right then and there.

We all know you're an alt-righter on the inside, you're not a TRUE leftist if you asked them. Really though, stuff like this is one of the reasons I don't like "left/right" as labels. A lot of the "leftists" on the Social Justice/Antifa trains were hardcore conservatives just a little over 5 years ago so I don't even understand the labeling.

The problem is that we don't count as 'the left' at the moment because of the concerted (although not necessarily deliberate) effort to make being left or right wing about how loudly you agree or disagree with their representatives, as opposed to what policies you support. It doesn't matter if you are opposed to antifa because their behaviour is detrimental to the left, because voicing concerns about antifa is 'attacking the left'.

As a true leftist, I come up with my own opinions. I don't ask for them from other people.

And yes, that means I do shit like actually read Julius Evola before deciding what I think about what he said.
