New devs are working on fixing the game. Mostly in the optimization. There's an exploit right now where a guy can create a lobby with infinite reservations basically fucking up the matchmaking and they're working on a fix.

The player numbers are slowly climbing from 500 to almost 900 which is pretty good all things considered.

Big questions:

Are they going to finish up the Priest? New maps? New modes? New monetization BS?

Prepare for epic bump:

Out of all of the asym horror games this is the one that refuses to die.

The devs are releasing a newly updated version of the game:

It will have the Priest that didn't make it into the game. In addition, it will have licensed content from Troma. So, there's the potential of playing as Toxie and murdering dudes? I am intrigued. Personally, I think it will be just costumes and some Poultrygeist chicken/zombie enemies (which would be fun).

It's also going to launch at a price point of $10.99. So, the new/old devs here are actively trying.

TLDR: the original guy who spear-headed the project fucked off and wrote the game off as a bankruptcy and the team he hired in Quebec bought the rights to the game and here we are. The original creator has nothing to do with the game now and that guy is a massively insecure prick who likes to hide on IMGUR of all places.

Am I optimistic? Not really. But, ya' never know. DbD was a fluke. Perhaps there's room for more than one fluke success story?

BREAKING NEWS!

(insert gif of a spinning newspaper here)

To the surprise of less than a dozen, the game is still fucked.

They made their announcement back in June and... Have made no further comments.

The last Tweet is from July which is obviously not a good look when trying to promote a game that's due in 12 days now.

Nearly everyone from the company has left leaving a skeleton crew of 10 people remaining. This includes a dev who was friendly on their Discord. Apparently, most have left because the money is gone.

Talk about a cursed game.
