Wow, I haven't seen it shake this bad before, and it seems to be getting worse. How far away is the camera from the volcano?

It's 12km away, it's just highly zoomed in, which makes the slight shaking caused by the wind seem more violent. It isnt shaking because of the volcano or earthquakes

That secondary vent seems to be really pumping at the moment. Seems like there's a lot more pressure being released at the moment.

The lava flow cross the Costa road just before reaching the ocean. Source.

The lava just reached to the ocean.
Finally. 23.05 local time, at Playa Nueva. Source.

Now authorities have set an exclusion perimeter of two nautical miles, because the contact of lava with saltwater can generate explosions and toxic clouds.

New Geology Hub video.
The video said that the estimated damage will be 400 million euros. The volcano will fertilize the current banana plantations that aren't destroyed and will yield some of the "tastiest bananas on the Canary Islands."
Who wants some volcanic bananas?

Saw a thing on twitter about afarTV downplaying the dangers of the volcano. Not sure if true since I hardly ever read the chat.

You can watch the chat yourself and see what they remove. From what I see, they delete comments that say stuff like "The volcano is collapsing" or "Tsunami is about to happen". They might be downplaying it; I wouldn't really know since I don't know much about volcanoes. But at least from what I've seen, they're just removing doom comments and spam.

Not to be left out, Kilauea is going off now.

I'm on the phone right now, is Iceland still going too?

is Iceland still going too?
Yup.

A little slower than before, but they've been getting earthquakes so who knows.

I've been in the chat for a couple days now. Most of the removed comments are either religious doomposting or not in English or Spanish. There isn't really any danger to anyone outside the affected area. Most of the island is fine, in fact. Unfortunately, a tsunami is extremely unlikely, especially now that 5+ vents have opened up

Still pretty sure a second volcano is about to emerge. Still seeing earthquakes.

Pretty KINO scenary tho
I agree. 13 quakes in the last 24 hours. They are all south of the current vents, but that’s where the earthquake swarm began before moving northeast. Definitely something to watch.

ETA:
36 quakes in the last 48 hours. Yellow is approximately where the current eruption and lava flow went.
