People are LOLing on the internet because CBS News believes that La Palma is located in Murcia, Spain, instead of being an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean near to Africa.

The earthquakes activity is decreasing today, BUT the deformation of the ground is increased by 10 centimeters since yesterday. Higher intensity earthquakes are expected. (Source)

In fact, the emergency services of the Canary Islands have issued a warning in the last hours.

And a beautiful picture taken yesterday.

NOOOO YOU CAN'T ERUPT LAVA AND DESTROY OUR ISLANDERINO! YOU'LL SCARE AWAY ALL THE HECKIN TOURISTERINOS AND THEY WON'T VISIT OUR COUNTRY!
Haha, volcano goes boom.

Bushcraft Bears morning vid. Lots of news and details. Doggos are confirmed safe and doing well under vet care. Still no identity of the A Team. Volcano conditions seem strange and worrying. A 10cm uplift overnight is not a good thing where Volcano's are involved.

I’m not sure the reputable it yet of this site. But it is talking some about the uplift along with the shallow quakes.

La Palma Island (Canary Islands): earthquake swarm picks up again, deformation reaches 10 cm uplift

Quakes under La Palma during the past 24 hours (map) and depths of quakes over the past 7 days, showing a gradual trend of getting closer to the surface.
The seismic activity under la Cumbre Vieja has picked up again during the past 12 hours, after having decreased significantly during the previous day.
The largest quake was a magnitude 3.2 event at 03:26 (UTC) today, at shallow depth of 0.1 km, and was felt by the population. Up to today moment and since the beginning of the series, 5391 earthquakes have been detected, of which 1102 have been located.
The maximum accumulated vertical deformation is around 10 cm in the area close to the earthquake swarm and its distribution is still compatible with a center of pressure from a magma intrusion under the same area. These movements have been observed both with the island's GNSS network and through InSAR data (Sentinel-1).

While the seismic swarm is still far from the levels of the first days of the crisis, which had started on 11 Sep, there is a noticeable trend of quakes becoming shallower. Combined with the ongoing deformation, the chances of a new volcanic eruption are gradually becoming larger: it seems that the pulse of new magma intruding underground, causing both the quakes and the uplift of the ground, has not yet stopped.
This may be indicative of pressure building for a new eruption. Not simply a new vent. 10cm up,it OVERNIGHT is a little scary as it indicates massive pressure changes at a shallower depth, happening very fast. That pressure and Magma or gas is not going out the existing vents but instead is building up further south on the island Seeking a new path upwards and out. Any change to the landscape, that you can detect with the naked eye is fairly major. If the timeframe of the visible change is measured in hours, not weeks or months, it might be time to consider some travel arrangements. Just in case.

That uplift is giving me Mount Saint Helens vibes too.

Propably nothing too big, but some shit will go down there. Certainly wouldn't want to be in that area.

Haven't paid attention since yesterday, what the hell happened to it?
It got tired of all the "Nothing is happening in the Canary Islands, nobody look over here, it's fine for tourists, everything is safe" crapola and decided to show off.

Can you imagine travelling to LA Palma just in time to see hundreds of the locals on the ferry getting the hell out of there? lol

So now we're at Increasing Volcanic and Geological activity, with a side of small pieces of island falling off. This apocalypse is really edging right up to the point of blowing its load, huh?

Description: "Surface slippage on the coluvion that cut the LP-2 road, km 36 and left the firefighters of La Palma trapped for 2 hours."

Not yet, the volcano has not finished it's masturbation routine.

This madman is the President of another Canary Island, La Gomera. His exact words have been:

Isn’t there a airplane that flies and that can make it drop (the bomb)? Reach out and drop and BLOOOOM! and I orient the lava in one (particular) direction. Maybe what I say is nonsense. It gives me the impression that, from a technological point of view you have to prove it.

Casimiro Curbelo, President of La Gomera, a man of ideas.

Since midnight, two earthquakes of magnitude 4.8 has been registered, both located in Villa de Mazo, according to data from the National Geographic Institute (IGN). Both earthquakes, with an intensity of IV on a scale of I to XII, have been felt not only on the island of La Palma, but also in Tenerife, El Hierro and La Gomera.

Between midnight and 5:52 Canary Islands local time, 70 earthquakes have been located in La Palma, all of them concentrated in the area of Villa de Mazo and Fuencaliente. (Source)

Edit to add: Another 4.8 one hour ago. Volcano’s activity is clearly increasing.

Bushcrafts latest. Keep watching after he says he’s done. There is a follow up clip from down in the city.

as for el Precidente of La Gopera. Is it a requirement in the Spanish speaking world that all politicians must be clinically insane morons? I mean I’ll grant you all of our politicians are morons as well. But they are mostly boring morons. Mostly lacking that over the top Supervillain type madness so prevelant in the Latin world.
