As soon as the rat king steps into the ring, Kurt starts to look perfectly rational and reasonable. He's not even crying about harassment, he's just taking the hits as they come and punching back like a champ.
 
I feel sorry for Kurt. He's still a pile of shit sperg, but we can all feel sorry for those kind of people sometimes.

He's been kind of broken since Tucker Carlson owned him completely and he got fired from Newsweek (which may cease to exist itself soon so maybe they even did him a favor).

For example I have been reading today's updates while listening to this on loop and honestly I feel that it made the whole experience many times more amusing

I really doubt Eichenwald sincerely believes it's wrong to wish death on American veterans and whatnot. I mean, call me cynical, but the overall tone with which he speaks of anyone more conservative than himself does not lend itself to believing he has that common decency. You can practically hear the sneer when he tweets the word "Republicans" despite it being in text. He uses it like a slur half the time.

However he's enough of an old-school "journalist" that he knows you're not supposed to be open about wishing death on the opposition. You're not supposed to come right out and say you want ISIS to murder American soldiers, you're just supposed to think it and let that subtly influence your writing. I think this was less him chastising the belief that soldiers guilty of wrongthink should be blown up, and more him chastising openly touting this belief by someone that's supposed to be partly responsible for carrying the narrative.

Basically I think his reaction was a thinly-veiled "It's true, but you shouldn't say it." But, that's just me, I have an incredibly low opinion of this fucker and his ilk and I at least admit I'm probably biased.
 
I don't think anyone in this believes anything. They would stick to a point if they actually had a point to make.
