Which is more likely, that Tucker Carlson, a prominent interviewer who interviews prominent people, has constructed an elaborate scam involving false dialog through earpieces for long distance interviews which he expects said prominent people to just meekly put up with, or that Kurt Eichenwald is shitty at communicating and making himself understood?

That interview with Tucker Carlson got to him in a very big way. I guess the need to rewrite the encounter in his head is pretty intense. "I only had a terrible interview because he cheated! Definitely no blame for me!"

I think it was the hentai incident mocking segment that finally sent him over the edge. He went a couple months after the interview without raging much about it, but after Tucker brought up the hentai incident on air, it probably infuriated Kurt even more not only due to the reputation damage and public humiliation, but in the fact that Kurt could not directly strike back without drawing people's attention to the incident in the first place. Now that time has placed some distance between him and the hentai incident, he is willing to take up the fight again now that he has fallen off the radar of much the internet right wing.
 
I still find it hilarious that he gets so mad about the tentacle porn thing when it's obvious as fuck he did it on purpose trying to spin it that he's not a gay pedophile. "Does a gay pedophile look at MILF tentacle porn?! I think not!"

His ego is so fragile and his arrogance is so intense that he's getting mad at people for bringing up a fake humiliation that he did to himself on purpose.
