The issue here isn't so much the casting couch but the fact that these trainees are very young. The process starts in middle school but some even start earlier and I can't imagine what it would be like for a young teen with limited life experience to deal with these situations.

The people preying on these trainees are going after children and that's what we should be talking about. I was hoping that the #metoo movement would be followed by the exposition of paedophiles and ephebophiles but of course that was naive of me. Too many extremely powerful people involved.

I doubt that movement would have cared about anything outside Western countries, particularly outside the US. Don't remember seeing a lot of poundmetoos from anywhere in Asia.

Apparently the Kpop fanwars of the 90's were a big thing, although without social media they were never recorded. Including a massive streetfight between legions of female fans of two major male Kpop groups of the time.

Whats odd about South Korea, is that Porn creation and distribution is banned. Prostitution was also banned in 2004. Instead of shutting down those industries, Prostitution and Porn simply moved underground where the Women, and now Children, have no legal protections against possible abuse and rape. Largely, the Government turns a blind eye. Or give small penalties. (Likely because it's earning the Government a good amount on the side) The global popularity of Kpop, may have even boosted their demand and prices.

A police officer who engaged in commercial sex acts with a child was convicted under the act on the protection of child and juveniles against sexual abuse and sentenced to a fine of 15 million Korean Won ($14,070) and 40 hours of “john school.”[1]

Despite (or because of) the illegality of prostitution in the country, sex trafficking is prevalent, encompassing the forced prostitution of more than a million South Korean women in red-light districts like Yong Ju Gol and other areas, not including women from other countries who have been trafficked into South Korea for the purpose of forced prostitution. Economic materialism in the country, which is visible in the sizable South Korean fashion and cosmetic industries, contributes to domestic human trafficking because many young women become burdened by significant debt, victimized by loan sharks, and overwhelmed with multiple credit cards to pay off.

The women who find themselves in this situation are often targeted by traffickers who entice the women with the possibility of paying off their debt through prostitution, when, in actuality, the traffickers ensure that the women's debt never gets paid off. Sex trafficking victims in South Korea are often sold in kissing rooms, massage parlours, and karaoke bars.[2]

  • From 2015 to 2019, law enforcement arrested more than 500 government officials, including police, for soliciting prostitution, but the government did not report screening these cases specifically for potential trafficking crimes.
  • Local governments reportedly encouraged and provided financial assistance to South Korean farmers to pursue marriages to foreign women through brokers, women who may have been exploited in sex trafficking.[12]

A US Immigration official conceded in 2006 that "There's a highly organized logistical network between Korea and the United States with recruiters, brokers, intermediaries.[42][43]

A Los Angeles police spokesman said that about 90% of the department's 70–80 monthly arrests for prostitution involve Korean women and Los Angeles police estimates that there are 8,000 Korean prostitutes working in that city and its suburbs.[44] Korean women`s customers in foreign countries are mostly Korean men.[45][46]

US Military Bases

In 1992, Yun Geum-i, a camptown Military base sex worker in Dongducheon, was brutally killed by U.S. servicemen.[85][86][87] Yun was found dead with a bottle stuffed into her vagina and an umbrella into her anus.[88] In August 1993, the U.S. government compensated the victim's family with about US$72,000.[89] However, the murder of a prostitute did not itself spark a national debate about the prerogatives of the U.S. forces; on the other hand, the rape of a twelve-year-old Okinawan school girl in 1995 by three American servicemen, one being a U.S. Navy Seaman, the others U.S. Marines elicited much public outrage and brought wider attention to military-related violence against women.[87]

Since 2004, the majority of prostitutes near US Military bases, have been Ukrainian women. South Korean sex workers have become less numerous as Ukrainian women were a cheaper labor alternative.[18][90] Since the mid-1990s, foreigners make up 80–85% of the women working at clubs near military bases.[91] With the collapse of the Soviet Union, thousands of Russian migrated to Korea to work as entertainers while others forced into prostitution for both American soldiers and Korean civilian men.[10]

"Can you stan, suckas?! I say the future is OURS! If you can STAN. "

"Now look what we have here before us! We have BTS army next to Girl's Generation fans. We got BIG BANG'ers! Right by NCT fanatics! Nobody is wasting nobody!"

How much of the kpop stans you see on Twitter hiding behind a profile pic of their idol do you think are negresses?

I see lots with BLM bio bullshit when blacks in Korea are less than 1% of the population.

It's white trannies because it's twitter.

They all put the BLM stuff in their profiles as well when most blacks would describe their lifestyle as "faggot shit".

That's an opinion mostly held by black men. There are a lot of young socially left wing black women in fandom spaces

Nah a lot of these kpop Stans talk like niggers so I doubt white trannies are the majority. I can see black men calling kpop shit faggot shit. Remember, these black women kpop Stans are probably the same people who buy/steal from Asian beauty supply shops.

Just like in the west, the South Korean entertainment industry has a larger than standard gay presence.

This has resulted in western fandoms creating video compliations to "prove" that certain idols are gay.
\

Realizing this phenomenon as an opportunity to gain fans. Companies have encouraged "Gay fanservice" despite some members reservations.

If you don't wanna fuck guys in the ass, you're simply not open minded enough. And a literal Nazi.

Faggots really are a plague. They always fucking inject their garbage in everything.

I do wonder what happens at fanmeets, between the idols and fans. Because this first time idol admits she had to be coached.

Most people need some coaching to approach social situations with a PR-focused eye. Businessmen and celebrities are carefully coached how to deal with media for example.

I did find a girl group doing a mock fansign with their own members.
