Adding on for reference, Bad Guys 2 made $22 million and Elio made $20.8 million in their opening weekends.
They were also released on all screens. This was a streaming release that was moved to theaters after it hit for a limited select screening run months later and made similar bank.

Im sorry you hate this exists, but it is topping the billboard charts, and has a billion youtube views. I could delete this thread and my happenings notifications and someone else will just redo it a few days later.

Any product presented to me is tainted by the meta-context of what made it for who.
The music has no meaning, intent, edge, or purpose other than "WGMI birth right" feel good bullshit.
Suspension of disbelief is gone. Popularity is fake and gay.

This and some random indian raping his mom are still, technically, valid community happenings by the law of the OP.
I wonder if the posting guidelines will ever be tightened...

None of these numbers imply this is: "Netflix has accidentally lucked into what is most likely the greatest cultural phenomenon of Generation Alpha.". Its just typical slop content. It doesn't even imply that the movie was profitable for netflix, which is such a dipshit stupid company that if it was actually a huge profitable entity they gave it away for all the people who already subscribed, instead of trying to sell tickets, hence 18m dollar box office. Woah guys did you hear Happy Gilmore 2 got 40m netflix viewers? Netflix just accidentally lucked into what is most likely the greatest cultural phenomenon of Generation X.

Bullshit, you just like it a lot so you want to promote it.

Utter slop, it will leave no lasting impact, just like all kpop, and the only people who like it are retarded.
Idol culture sucks in Japan and it sucks in Korea.

You can tell these guys are massive faggots.
And the lessons it teaches to your little shits: Cocksucking homos are demons, just like the bible warned you about! THANKS, JESUS!

It's pretty fucking sad that Gen Alpha's first cultural milestone is midwit oriental pop opera cartoon shit and not something more subversive or interesting.

Not a single one of you could've put a jar up your ass? You're telling me you couldn't stand in front of a camera and sing the theme to Metal Gear Solid 2 while Shia LaBeouf is losing his collective shit? There are online games where the fucking pools are accessible and everyone is getting AIDs.

Leave a legacy of impact and retardation. Nobody is going to remember this gay movie but nobody forgets GOATSE.

Chicks dig it. If you look like that, you can get laid. If you look like 80s Arnie, which is what I'm going to assume you want male cartoon characters to look like, you will struggle to get laid because only men like men that look like that. I'll let you decide which of those situations is the gayest.
Mentally retarded 20 year olds enjoy it and so do teenagers. Since they aren't my demographic for obvious reasons, I'm good with pursuing my personal health seriously and getting laid regularly by pretty hot 30 year olds.

I will let you decide if the implications of doing the opposite is disturbing or not.

K-Pop demon hunters is a kids movie that glorifies the K-pop culture and if you're a fan of that, you'll love it. Otherwise, the story is basic bitch and predictable. Definitely comes off as a poor man's version of Metalocalypse.

Again, I would love sequels where instead of following these three characters we just have another sect of demon hunters built around a different music genre.

Just give me power metal demon hunters, thanks.

I watched it with my niece a while back and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. At the end of the day it's still a kids movie so obviously it's not going to appeal to everyone, but I agree with most of OP's thoughts about it. Hopefully Sony can keep the momentum going since clearly Pixar isn't doing so well.

Blue Archive was suspiciously pushed in an astroturfed way too.
I still recall a few years back someone here on KF made a thread in tech about their spotify account, and how it had a "bug" where it kept interrupting what they were listening to to randomly switch to this one song by some random gay fucking kpop girl group.

Looking at the situation it seemed like their account had been compromised. The best part was that a couple days later in another unrelated thread, someone else just happened to mention that same group, and that they were doing a big advertising push during that time. Put two and two together, and it was obvious whatever company was doing marketing for this group bought listens from compromised accounts (probably a service who specifically provides that) to boost their spotify activity, so they could tell everyone they were getting huge numbers.

These slant eyed little bug people with their valueless dog shit media products will do literally anything to convince the public they are popular and validate listening to them, because they know it's embarrassing, worthless trash, and they need people to believe that everyone is doing it. Never trust them.

How long is his Korean fever going to last? How did America let Korea steal all Thier 90s boy/girl band culture and resell it back to them? Now we have over a decade of Korean femboy NSYNC clones and the younger generations think the cultureless Koreans invented it and the young white girls are simping for bugmen in lipgloss.

Which is hilarious knowing the demographics and state of the culture in worst Korea

All that being said, thankfully my kids are too young to see this. I don't have to think about it *phew*
