Honestly I don't know what peoples issues with this movie are here. Yeah it's korean kpop shit. So what?

It's a kids movie that's
1) entertaining
2) has memorable, well-made songs
3) doesn't have shitty gay messages like Turning Red or most other Disney/Pixar garbage

Those are all pluses in my book.

Thought the movie was fun! Was it the best animated film ever? Not at all. And I normally hate Kpop shit due to Koreaboos but the movie was fun. I'm okay with this being milked for endless sequels or a tv show. Anything is better than Pixar's homo pandering slop.

This Kpop shit is the exact same garbage as every other half-assed musical, or pop song from the last 25 years, its just Asian.
I genuinely don't know what people are talking about. My assumption is people who like this stuff don't listen to music very much, or have an extremely pedestrian, passing interest in music.
The melody patterns have that AI sound where each line sounds like a different melody is being played. The lyrics are generic enough to apply to whatever context, and yet have very little to them.
Stuff about how youre stronger than you were before, how you didnt realize how you deserve stuff, whatever.
Its actually amazing to me how people think this is "refreshing" when its essentially reheated American stuff from 10-15 years ago, just bulgogi style.

Why does everything need to be so extreme when it comes to discourse on this site? I never said that it's breaking new ground and changing the fabric of the music industry, Jon Landau. I just said that it's better than the slop put out by Disney and the like right now. Which it is.

Stuff like this would've been the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel baseline for a animated project 20 years ago that wasn't straight-to-VHS, but compared to the unwatchable dogshit put out by every other animation studio right now, it stands out. That's all. Listen to the songs from dreck like the Frozen and Moana sequels, or that waste of money Wish that came out a few years ago. That's the competition this movie is facing and it's genuinely embarrassing.

Kids movies being more like this and less like Wish or Turning Red is a good thing, at least to me. Hopefully some day we'll get back to actually exemplary stuff like in the 90s and 00s.

Apparently Pedoflix was retarded again (must be a day that ends with Y) and didn't have even a single toy company on standby in case this blew up (obviously it did). An article said toy companies were 'reluctant about the concept'.

Niggas just needed to look at Demon Slayer and they'd get the answer: foolproof fortune. But I guess my non-degree having self just dosen't understand business. Apparently the term 'just in case' is a foreign concept.

If the kids are still this dead-set on this, I'll call up a friend or key up Etsy. Nobody can fucking plan ahead anymore...

i dont want to burst your bubble but alot of the 90's and 00's childrens entertainment is just as awful. i think that if you are able to put aside your nostalgic bias you might find yourself cringing.

Dear memories of my father coming home from work to find us watching cartoons always used to say the same the same thing you are implying right now. (at least the gist of it was the same)
