Wow I've seen shitposts on KF that are longer and more detailed. Great job Kotaku.

Nigger cups steal your coffe if you put it in them! They are only good for storing your cotton, everybody knows that!

But yeah, this is silly. I guess that when Drumpf does not do something at all, they still need to ree about something. Anything. No matter how disconnected.

If you beat the Devil under 1 minute, you'll get a bonus cutscene where Cuphead says "niggers belong in the field"

Source: My great uncle works at the studio.

Games journalists are so upset that they suck at Cuphead that they have to invent reasons not to like it.

This is what happens when you spend more time self-flagellating and virtue signalling than you do actually playing the games you're paid to review. Pathetic.

I'll never understand this concept. When I eat a kebab I don't reflect on the Armenian Genocide and if I watch a Samurai movie I don't ponder the Rape of Nanking. Why would I play a cutsie cartoon styled game and think about Jim Crow?

The real truth is that those people are secretly racist and yearn for a time when Black people were truly submissive to the Democrat Party, rather than the soft control they exert today.

"Because my editor assigned me to write about Cuphead for $150 and I'm not very good at it because I spend too much time analyzing the progressive stack and not enough time practicing and improving my skills. The article is due by this weekend and I need to find some angle to write about."

Didn't the developers go out of their way to avoid having overly racist elements from 1930s cartoons?

Somehow, I'm not sure if I should feel surprised that some asswipe found a way to accuse the game of being racist.

Soon Studio MDHR is gonna insert a cutscene where King Dice and Satan take the player aside and go "We may literally be stealing men's souls, but the REAL Lord of All Evil is Racism."

One of the Moldenhauer brothers is, by all accounts, a total chad. It'd be hilarious for him to insert a deliberately questionable scene in a forthcoming expansion.

Except the only time they were actually completely submissive to a party, it was the Republican Party and the Democratic Party was the racist party from the South.

I'm sure the author tried to play it some for the story but couldn't get through the tutorial and broke his keyboard and yelled REEEEEEEE and still couldn't think of any convincing way to call it racist somehow.

tl;dr: Cuphead is racist because racist stuff happened in the 1930s and the devs didn't insert social commentary into a game about a fucking anthropomorphic cup.

Incidentally this is one of those coordinated smears these fake journalists constantly come up with and they basically stole this tack from some other blog.

They apparently realized the whole "I'm bad at this game therefore it sucks" tack wasn't convincing anyone and pivoted to "DASS RAYCISSSS" because that's their old standby when everything else fails.

And they wonder why nobody takes them seriously.

(ETA: forgot to add archive link for shit site you shouldn't click on.)

Because you don't make your living through writing clickbait articles.

Nobody gives a shit kotaku.

Man when will they implode or something?

You notice this "it's racist" tack wasn't even their first line of attack?

Ordinarily, a game gets reviewed by these fake journalists shortly after its release and then they move on.

In this case, though, one of their incompetent moron fellows sucked at the game so much he got made fun of for it.

Now, the whole gang is joining together to get revenge, and suddenly, completely fabricated allegations of racism, obviously agreed upon behind the scenes beforehand, come out from multiple outlets simultaneously. Well, two so far. We'll see more, though, I bet.

Too bad there's still no ethics in game journalism. Good thing "game journalism" itself is on life support and barely exists.

I think this is right on the money. This kind of thing is basically the end game for most [Demographic] Studies majors. They spend 4+ years learning how to look at everything through the lens of "how does this oppress people" and nothing else. So when they get their first job, say, writing about video games, all they can manage to shit out are articles like "here's how Cuphead is racist." It's the only thing they know how to talk about.
