Day 31 – CWC

Da first sign was JaQuonda sayin' how my arms be lookin' paler 'an normal.

“You need to go see a doctor, Brandon, or you gonna end up whiter than Michael Jackson.”

I tol' her: “Bitch, you know my arms always be lookin' paler in winter.”

She flounced onto da unmade bed, lyin' dere on her side wit' her legs closed.

“All I'm sayin', Brandon, is, if you carry on down dis road, pretty soon, ji, I'ma be askin' you fo' reparations.”

Truth was I noticed the change but put it outta of my mind. Got bigger issues:

New geeker inmate on my block: C.Chandler. Mug won't stop callin' me Brandonchu. I sent tha' fool down to da hole fo' a month for disrespectin' a guard. Next day, he's back in his cell like nothin' happened. Warden calls me to his office. Says we gotta tread careful 'round dis mug. Fills me in on da 'portance o' da merge. How it's gonna be a big thing fo' Virginia.”

“You mean like Maryland and Virginia mergin' to make a single state?” I ax.

“Yeah, you keep on thinkin' like tha',” he says. “Oh, an' by da way, I'm likin' da new hair.”

Truth is I bin pullin' bright yellow hairs outta my head fo' weeks. Now it's startin' to grow in patches. The other guards bin commentin' on it. I tol' dem, it's a med'cal condition. No biggie. I still be kirkin' it like a mug, in da club, yo.

Also I got dis mad static electric thing goin'. Creatin' tiny sparks 'n' shit. Must be all da charged atmosphere up in dis jont. Bin usin' it to top up da batt'ry in my phone, so it s'all good.

Ran a minute mile s'morning, I stamp. All I can say is watch yo' race-griftin' ass, Kaepernick. I'ma comin' fo' yo' Nike sponsorship.

Tha' C.Chandler mug bin actin' all high saddity, sayin' how he's Jesus Christ 'n' shit. I tol' him: Jesus never fugged his moms.

Two weeks since I last wrote. Shit's gettin' weirder all da time. Gots bright yellow hair all over my body now, wit' the 'ception of a patch on my belly where the skin has faded to a tan colour. Same deal wit my arms. On tha subject, my arm's 'n' legs have got real skinny, like they gots no bones inside or muscle definition. JaQuonda freaked out. Says I'ma back on da 'roids. I tol' her: “Bitch, do I swole to you!?”

Anyway she left me.

Man, fuck dat ho.

Woke up dis mornin an' wha' da fuck!!! My eyes done merged almost like ski goggles. The pupils are in da same place but larger. The whites-a joined-up 'bove the nose, an' da eye's-ah more arch-shaped. Hair is spikey an' bright yella, 'cept on either side of da head where dere dese two pointy antenna mugs wit black tips.

I axed to go on sick leave but got denied. Warden tol' me just to chill an' embrace da merge.

Bumped into Tyrone this mornin' in da staff locker.

“Woh dere shorty! Someone let the air outta yo trainers,” he says.

Used to tower over dat mug. Now he gots at least a foot and a half on me.

I'ma four foot tall. Gotta embrace dat truth. Runnin' on da road don't feel right no more. I been doin circuits of dis abandoned rollercoaster called da Double-Loop. I can manage da entire track in less-an 20 seconds. Bin leavin' scorch marks on da rails.

Hooked up wit dis fine-ass trans bitch called Rosechu, I met on Tindr or Grindr. Kinda went through da same thing I did, only she gots pink hair 'stead o yellow. Same tan arms, though.

I quit workin' at da Jont. People wanna watch me run the rollercoaster. Da fairground owner pays me in da gold rings rubes use to try-an win prizes.

Went back to the Jont to holla at C.Chandler. To thank him 'n' shit, but he already out.

Saw him down at the lake a few weekends ago, walkin' like a mug on da water. Givin' out advice to the dynamite fishers.

I'm extremely happy that everyone had so much fun this year!!! There are so many talented kiwis and it was so cool seeing how everyone interpreted the prompts!

Necro-ing because I want to gauge interest on a 2022 Kiwitober, I know the site has been fucky and inconsistent so that will make participation hard but Got Dayum do I love a good art challenge.
I'm going to think up a list soon, suggestions are welcome!

There's much more that I'm sure I'm unaware of, but thinking through the year (and my watched threads) that's what sticks out to me. If I may, even though it seems like the obvious inclusion... maybe we don't do a Keffels day. The last thing the farms needs is a day of anti-keffals art (created by glowies) under the farms name to flood twitter. Ignoring it and keeping it about our local, homegrown cows might be for the best, but it's certainly up for debate.
