Been having 502 errors like 5-7 times a row usually; not though for the last little while, it’s been behaving really well.
That means your DNS server picked a dead node. It's entirely random. Whatever servers the trannies are attacking can down, and your DNS has a 1/5-n chances of picking a living node.

I've found a DNS provider supposedly has more intelligent round-robin than pure chance. The TTL is 1 minute instead of 5, so traffic should be bouncing between nodes more often, which will reduce the overall window of downtime you're stuck with if you are on a dead node. The DNS provider supposedly pings your A records to see which ones are responsive and stops broadcasting those as well.

What does this mean? There is a Chinese company called ".top" that goes around closing .top domains?
.top is a TLD (top-level domain) like .com, .net etc.
Barring the technical jargon, in layman terms; .top is pretty much controlled by the Chinese and as such is regulated by their government; anything the government sees as opposing to their views will be removed swiftly; since a domain name is just a human readable name that DNS servers simply give the sites address (so you can actually access the site without knowing it’s IP address) when you attempt to visit the site using that domain name. Josh pretty much just used .top in the interim, during the whole mess (I think knowing full well the government would take it down eventually). “Any port in a storm” mentality.

The government just determined that no Chinese owned tld would ever point to the address of such an evil website such as the farms… lolz

I stand corrected; I didn’t know they were private; if I’m reading this right, the sponsoring org is Jiangsu BangNing Science and Technology Co.,Ltd.
though there’s at least ten different registrars associated with .top, at least from what domainnamestat.com.
I want to learn more about the whole domain business, I understand it at a high level but when it gets into specifics I admit I’m not as well versed as I should be.

Though responding to your previous comment; I didn’t know any DNS provider did that! It must be why I’m getting consistently good connectivity on reload.

I really like the idea of using proxies as, in a sense, load balancers (with their own individual thresholds for traffic) without having a CDN implemented (which is not something I would ever expect you to do, as that shit gets too expensive quick).
But it’s a clever solution.

Which if the DNS provider supposedly does as advertised; you don’t need to allocate that many for a decent experience even if more than 60% of your nodes are down from the troons.

It also reduces the attack surface as once the DDOS takes down a node, that node no longer becomes accessible to new attackers, then they move over to another one, just to have the previous node come back up since most DDOS services require a certain level of user interaction to keep it alive.

Yes, this does mean that the attackers shave off some time when finding live nodes but honestly. Who actually gives a shit, it improves both sides of the coin. And overall benefits the usability of the site.
Good show; I’m excited to see how she holds up during the storm!

One small annoying thing I've noticed is the Captcha always fails first time (by never appearing on the login box first time). I get prompted with the logic problem second time around, and can usually sign in properly then.
Well at least I'm not just retarded, like I thought I was. I chalked it up to just being blind, but even then it's not too hard, I just have to punch my (long, secure, unique) password in again.

Running almost as fast as ever right now over .st, good stuff. Long live the mesh.

Nothing is truly private in China. Maybe they sympathize with the tranny cause, seeing how they have a lot to gain from the fall of Western Civilization and the troonsquad are pretty much all communists.
I can't believe they've got enough money to do this for weeks.
If there's one thing the ADL has plenty of, it's money.

Anyway, I'm getting a bunch of 502/503 from Leafistan, with the occasional page loading. I think we probably won't be back to normal until .net is stable again--now that we've taken care of those "immediate and specific threats to life", Cloudflare should reinstate us, right guys?

The amount of juryrigging you've done in the meantime is impressive, Josh.

Diamwall is just real fucking janky for me. I cleared my cache multiple times, but it just hate my guts. I'll stick to the .st site for now.

EDIT:
For reference, DiamWall requires me to solve captcha which doesn't even fucking show up on the page.

Oh, and accessing the .net site on Firefox is much worse, as DiamWall is just flat out blocking me instead.

Ctrl + F5 on Firefox just sends me to the unsolvable captcha page.

My best bet would be yes considering Null has little to no ownership over that domain anymore. From one user to another, I'd recommend you just hold onto it for now and wait until hosting is more stable.
My bet would be "probably" but I don't know if I'd rely on it. The way that the registration process works is that verification of the domain is required initially but after that the process sends BAT through the tip process which ends up in his Brave Creator account. I don't think it'll automatically detect if the domain no longer exists, so it'd have to be manual intervention if it stopped working.

In a word, yes.

.top is a private company and the decision most likely did not involve the CPC.
Supposedly they contact the registrar and you're able to submit some sort of response, it seems like "I remove illegal materials when they're reported and have never been charged with any crimes related to such material" ought to be a well-founded response but obviously you've got to convince some weenie who got a million abuse report e-mails claiming that we're all terrorists and we're murdering people and they already apparently believed that.

.st hitting a lot of dead gateways for me. I can access .net again for the time being but the text field for a new post doesn't appear for me there. Trying to refresh multiple times.

2FA is completely broken on .net, as soon as I press "Confirm" it throws me a "Oops! We ran into some problems." According to the console it's Diamwall blocking this exact query even though it lets me load the site just fine.

getting constant 502 on .st and "kiwifarms.net refused to connect". tor seems to work for the time being.

edit: .st seems to be back!
