I'm thinking about making a Kiwifarms "official" (meaning forum members only) Valheim server. I like the game, but playing solo sucks cause it forces you to use devcommands. If anyone thinks this is a good idea I'll start up a server and post the invite code and password. Prolly won't have any of rules other than DBAA.

How does the game work, is it like Minecraft where you are all in one big open world and you can build things together?

Yes. If you like Skyrim and you also like Minecraft. There's a good chance you'll like Valheim. It's got biomes like minecraft with their own unique building materials, foodstuffs, enemies, etc. To "progress" through each biome you fight their bosses after making a pagan sacrifice to said boss. Its much more fun and less grindy with friends because more hands make less work essentially.

Well that sounds pretty cool, I don't have the game but if a group gets together I might try it out.

I guess the only thing is if there is a progression system would people rush through and beat all the content and leave the server with nothing to do?

I lost all my items after an update. I had a mod for chests and everything got deleted. Super salty about it to this day and never played it again. But if we get a server going I'll jump in.

its still early access lol and $10 more than when i got it at launch

i liked the atmosphere though it was pretty good, ill have to check it out again

awwwww bless you gaben you held onto my saves for 5 years

See no point playing now when last biome is so close. Wait, its been 2 years since ashlands? Jez, every biome has same dev cycle as the game itself. Also multiplayer is not that much easier, you need to equip more people, means more trips to mines, bogs and such.

I'm pleasantly surprised this got any attention at all lol.

If you're a lazy fag like me, yes.

That is actually a great question. You probably could speedrun the content, and it likely would ruin the game for everyone else just trying to have fun with forum frens. I hate to do it, but I may have to wield a Banhammer from time to time... I'll likely have to come up with a very short, very concise list of rules (uuuUUUUUUGGGGGHHHH) just to maintain good vibrations.

True lol how long has this game been in development now? Honestly if they waited until it was finished, I'd happily pay 60 dollarie-doos for valheim instead of mainstream slop. Also, you make a great point, I'm thinking maybe a short, easily-downloadable modlist to help make the gameplay less grindy.

Can't you just turn up the resource multiplier in vanilla server settings? I assume that's what you're referring to. No need for devcommands.
You see, latinlover, the problem with that, is that it's a perfectly good idea that I wish I had thought of yesterday. Will def be looking into that.
