this is a lolcow forum. if a non-lolcow game wins can we even say we tried? We managed to slip Sonic through (I think Final Fantasy didn't make it which would've been another good contender.) We have to take our lolcow games where we can. Melee will stink up the competition (literally) but damn if it isn't a lolcow production factory.

Could do specific genres/platforms or something along those lines to keep it fresh and also dig deeper into those respective areas for some underrated gems to duke it out.

I do like the idea of having quadrants for FPS, RPG, Platforming, etc. Could be enough to do a 128 game tournament with the inclusion of other genres too

Platforms/generations would be a good idea, and help prevent the same games being nominated every time.
I voted Smash Bros Melee because it was probably the last couch co-op experience I ever had, and Bayonetta because the music is great even though I can't use dodge offset for shit.
 
My blind hatred for smash made me vote for a game I don't even know about.
Smash players are subhuman and ruined a game in every way possible by taking everything fun out of it.

Bayonetta is mediocre DMC.
Sims 2 is woman eugenics simulator but at least entertaining.

I nominate smash Bros and the Sims because I haven't heard anyone who played them shut up about them so they must be impactful.
 
Brawl is the much better Smash game compared to Melee, no matter how hard compfag autists complain and cry about it because it didn't have the broken movez.
 
Sims 2 is wildly different depending on platform. PSP Sims 2 was borderline a point and click adventure game about bringing down a Satanic cow cult that does manage to summon the demon. This is after your car breaks down and then the repair shop gets abducted by aliens

Shit was crazy to me as a kid who had played all the console versions up to that point. Felt like it came out of nowhere.
