I fully understand people not wanting daily posts about this on the Community Happenings thread. If this were to be done again at a later point, why not vote on all currently open pairings at the same time; but with voting open for a week or so. I'd think the happenings thread is much less hostile to one post a week (and also significantly less posts in general).

In an ideal world it would be advertised on the site home page just like the GameFAQs one used to be. I'm not that bothered either way, but it was nice seeing the extra voting engagement the CH posts brought; without tourists it's come down to about 40 spergs ready to tear each other's throats out.

OT: Most of these 3rd round match-ups are fucking brutal. I went Deus Ex and Half Life 2, but I'll be just as happy if Thief and Super Metroid win.
 
I never played Deus Ex but I saw a thread that was about the Malkavian mod which I first thought was about VTM Bloodlines and they were using funny quotes that came from the mod. So I voted for Deux Ex and Super Metroid, I did play Metroid on the NES that was fun.

Fuck me, man, Super Metroid vs. Half-Life 2? The pioneer of Metroidvanias (it’s not literally the first but you know what I mean) vs. the introduction of the Source engine? I’ll vote Super Metroid because I like it better as a game, but it hurts.
 
My predictions for the third round:
  1. Deus Ex because memes
  2. Super Metroid because old
  3. Mario 64 because old
  4. MGS3 because memes
  5. MM because it's not Pokemon
  6. AoE2 because it's cool and peggle is not
  7. MGS because memes
  8. MELEEEEEEE because old people and autists think it's the best game ever made
  9. LttP because furries yiff in hell
  10. TF2 because funny game
  11. SotN by a hair because both are meme games but SotN actually holds up
  12. Doom 2 because the king of kong meme can only carry a bad game so far
  13. Dark Souls because it's dark souls
  14. Mario RPG because nethack aged like shit but Mario RPG only aged like ass
  15. Doom for the same reason as Mario RPG
  16. Half Life because Star Control 2 is the only game in this round I've never played therefore it is bad
