The last dying embers of a bygone era. But that makes it fun and cozy. Reminds me of the soul of a small image board I once frequented, filled with varied well spoken or verbosely crass individual, and the occasional loud retard, but without the latter it really wouldn't feel right. It is a well of creativity, not a day goes by i don't laugh at a name or profile pic i scroll by, and the variety of topics covered overall is comparable to that of any other social media site. Theres no ads, theres no pushed content, no algorithm, just raw interest, its an entirely human driven site, each of these alone would be enough of a novelty for me to stay. Its a lot of things, because its a big site, but most commonly i think its a refuge from all the problems of modern social media and the Internet at large. I use the form because there is no alternative, nowhere is criticism so fair and allowed, nowhere is humor of my taste permitted, nowhere that dissenting opinions are considered, nowhere save for The Farms.
