Might be considered powerleveling, but I had some old friends who were into that; not really into the BDSM scene, but they'd lead each other around on leashes in public areas. Not sure if it was to really get off on it or they just were desperate for attention. I didn't care all that much until they tried doing it while I was playing third wheel with them and we were out having lunch when the girl got the leash out of her bag and talked about us walking her boyfriend. Completely ruined my appetite and I had to bus home *sigh*

EDIT:
To clarify, I wasn't exceedingly close with this couple; we had a few common interests and it wasn't until later I learned about the whole leash-thing. I'm not friends with these particular people anymore and I haven't seen them around town in a long while so I'm not sure what happened to them.

Oh, God. @Bluebersaur - that line of yours succeeded in striking a sort of leaden echo in my heart. You see, I've encountered quite a few people of this nature on the trans scene. I don't necessarily mean they were all into BDSM or furries. But they were somehow all of the same ilk as this individual. Flaky, with seriously weird beliefs, ultra-feminine (or so they thought) and somehow completely...disconnected from other people. Oblivious. (And yes, in at least one case, I'm pretty sure it was Autism.) Trans avant-garde performance artists, trans fetishists, trans spiritualists, trans Wiccans.

I keep meaning to share a few stories in the Personal Lolcow thread - lolcows who one could honestly believe were related to this "Kitten Bondagewench". As to the connecting thread - what it is that makes these people so alike - I honestly don't know. But the fact is, they are alike. So much so, it eventually seems that once you've seen one, you've seen them all.
