It's because RECOM sucks and the game simply was never designed to be in 3D. The game was meant to be on GBA. The card game was actually pretty intuitive and you didn't really notice it after awhile. In RECOM, the game is so vastly different, it allows you to snap it in two. The GBA arenas were a lot smaller. One enemy attacking at a time is no issue because you never noticed it. Trust me, those Organization fights are no friggin joke. They can mess you up if you aren't careful.

Never forget, at the end of the day RECOM was a rush job and slapped onto KH2FM to help justify the price tag because people were sick of the whole Final Mix thing.
Yeah I'm really deep in my Re:CoM achievement playthrough and the bullshit has been consistently tiresome. I did find one silver lining, Larxene is such a bitch to everyone in both Sora's story and Re:CoM and it's so refreshing to see. She wasn't half this spicy in KH3.

She wasn't allowed to be. Nobody was. Vanitas should've been the boss at the end of Monsters Inc. that room practically screams "Boss fight" but Disney wouldn't let them do anything fun like that.

How the hell am I supposed to beat the final boss in 1? Everything is a fucking cakewalk up to this point, but if I have to grind what feels like another 10 levels I'm just going to skip it and jump to CoM.

What difficulty/level/ability path are you on? With a decent keyblade, enough magic to keep up aero at all times, and a full set of elixirs it should be pretty doable even on proud

I struggled on proud because I was going for the achievement where you use default equipment for the entire game so I was down bad for every defense and attack up I could find.

I am 100 percent noticing a pivot away from Disney stuff these days. It's still there on a surface level but there's more of a focus on the original content so there's less of a clusterfuck as to what they can and can't do.

I just wanna see more classic FFX designs. Belts and leather. I know they're gonna look halfway normal with tech wear in KH4 though

Recently beat KH1, need to pick between Agrabah and Halloween Town in KH2 so not quite halfway through, and I was just thinking that with Leia as a Disney princess now Star Wars would be a fucking kickass level. Just go and set it on the Death Star and have Sora, Donald, and Goofy help Obi-Wan murderize a bunch of Stormtrooper Heartless as Luke, Leia, and Han escape before fighting Vader as the level's boss after he strikes down the old man. "Muh Darkness" also goes great with the whole Dark Side of the Force thing.

Also, holy shit is the plot to KH2 dumb as fuck. Twilight Town with Roxas took fucking ages, that exposition dump with Yen Cid was annoying, and not a single damn thing makes any sense due to the plot being contained in those damn side games, assuming it even does make sense after playing them. KH2 is proof positive that Japanese are to writing what the Germans are to engineering: there's nothing they can and won't overcomplicate. KH1 was pretty much a weird-ass fan-fic of "Hey, what if a bunch of Disney villains got together and cooperated on their princess-snatching and some random goofball kid has to save the day?" and like all fan-fics the writing has gone completely off the deep end in no time flat.

I started playing through Kingdom Hearts 1, and I started looking through the possible worlds they could even put into KH4. I noticed two things.

1. Disney is highly allergic to marketing their Wartime Era, Dark Age, and Experimental Era films. The Wartime movies make sense- not too much you can do there for Kingdom Hearts. But even most of the worst of the Dark Age and Experimental Era are still better than the schlock they’re releasing now.

2. Aside from Encanto (mixed reception), Disney Animation Studios has not made an objectively good movie since Moana. Since Disney, even before they went to shit, has always wanted to advertise the newer movies, it makes sense that KH4 will have one of the Black Age movies (as I call them- if the Dark Age was dark, then what’s darker than dark?) as a world. The question is what they could possibly add as a world? My bets are on Encanto, the better of the Black Age movies, though I could also see them adding Wish as well.

Nah. they'll put in something that's actually good or average. Wish is sure as shit not getting in.

Wish will be a world on the map but never able to visit. Donald will say something like "We don't need to go there." and that's the end of it

I couldn't care less about star wars these days but light saber themed keyblade would be cool.

Oh god. Remember when the Disney villains were relevant to the plot? It feels like after 1, with the exception of Hades, they’ve been either irrelevant to the main plot (Jafar, Cutler Beckett), comic relief (Maleficent, Pete), or both (Oogie Boogie). I hope KH4 stops jerking itself off and makes the Disney villains the main threat (even if they’re being manipulated by someone’s OC donut steele again).

So they leaked the beta footage for various kh3 scenes and the temp models for yazora and co are straight up from ff15
