Hoping for news this year.

KH3 had a couple years of no information what-so-ever.

What are the chances of KH4 being PS5 exclusive? Square Enix has been releasing lots of Final Fantasy games only on PS5 and Kingdom Hearts is FF-Adjacent.

Almost certainly a timed exclusive if it's anything like rebirth.

Better (realiztic) question, what are the chances KH4 will miss this generation or two?
I don't think it will miss it. Info has been scarce lately because square is adopting a (smart) policy of focusing marketing on one game at a time that's actually somewhat close to coming out as opposed to announcing a title years in advance that hasn't had any work put it in it.

I think that the issue with Kingdom Hearts is, to a degree, the first game was a roll of the dice. JRPG crossed with Disney?
It's not even really a jrpg. It's the same shitty action battle system they've been using for the last 20 years in a desperate attempt to not be seen as "outdated" by using turn based systems. FF 15 and 16 are just shitty KH Reskins.

Remake never came to Xbox tbf. I don't care that much since I got a PS5 but sucks for my friend who has a Series X lol.

I have a feeling the Star Wars world is going to suck, we probably won't even get to fight Darth Vader. We'll probably be on the ground the whole time on Endor fighting a Heartless AT-AT.

I think if we get news it’ll probably be at TGS.

By the way are there any worlds you guys wanna see in 4 (can be something new or it can simply be returning to a world that we’ve already seen)? Personally I wanna see Shibuya, have Sora actually go see Neku and shit after the events of DDD.

True

A millennium of torment on those who discarded the purity of TBS.

Yeah it's PC or the PS5 at this point.

There's no way they won't have a Vader boss fight. Xemnas is literally a sith lord and we fought him already

Honestly I want more original content. Disney worlds can be cool but there's only so much you can do if you don't get the freedom to go a little nuts like kh 1 and 2.

Finally they put the games on steam.
You're better off just pirating it. Here's the part of the EULA that states that what you're buying is access to it that can be taken away for what every reason they want, not a copy of it that is yours' forever like the PS2 version

I recognize the weight and simplicity of KH1 but KH2 just does it so much better. You feel stronger by putting attacks onto your combos, not just doing bigger numbers (against bigger number enemies anyway). I rushed through KH1, gave chain of memories a few shots before realizing it's dogshit ass cancer, and now I'm rushing through KH2 cause I suddenly remember everything and don't feel like revisiting 9 hours of cinematics. Really hyped for le Aqua and co.

Tempted to rewatch lore videos but guess it'd be a waste until KH4 is close. Man, I missed this franchise. The over the top "final fantasy" shit, that you actually don't really see much of in final fantasy anymore.

I'm not at all a fan of all the KH1 retreading and some of the uninspired levels we're traipsing through in Re:CoM, but I do want to take my time with it (I rushed a lot of KH1 for the Speedster achievement).
It's far from being the best combat system but the sleights are really fun to use and to dominate heartless with. Some of the totally busted shit you can do with it is crazy.
What I don't like about Re:CoM is ironically one of the systems that made it unique. All the enemies play the same card system that you do, and it means that 1) in a crowd, only one enemy can attack at any given time) and 2) the mechanics encourage you to break enemy cards, which is basically like forcing all the shit you fight to skip their turns and it's so easy to exploit when you have the CP and sleights.
I'm just finally glad it's ON steam. I always wanted to go achievement hunting but I never had it on a console/storefront I cared about to be worth the effort. Be able to save the game to the steam cloud and keep it in perpetuity is nice too. And it looks really good on super high rez PC specs. I bet 0.2 and 3 are gonna look AMAZING (on PS4 I played them on a 720p tv)

Supposedly, we might be getting a Moana world in KH4, if that faggot MysticDistance/Midori is supposed to be believed.

I 100 percent believe that. Also star wars is guaranteed. The autistic trailer theories make too much sense

I stopped giving a shit about kingdom hearts after the disappointment that was KH3(mind you i really liked kingdom hearts). Like the game, the actual thing we care about is in the last act of the game after playing through mostly slug(Toy story world was enjoyable) Hopefully KH4 will be an improvement, not hyped but ill be interested in how will they approach it.
