Shaka Fucking Zulu,
it does feel so incredibly rewarding when you manage to kill a guy
Far as bugs go, I only encountered one: the Bailiff of Skalitz's sword not appearing when I reloaded the game thinking that I could actually of beaten Runt after he kicked my ass. The sword from reloading that save never appeared unless I exited the game and the loaded it from Steam or my desktop. As for Godwin, yeah the dude shows hypocrisy in getting drunk and banging a woman but I like how he speaks of Jan Huss's words. The segment with him literally felt like a medieval version of a segment from a comedy flick where the main character would get drunk and do some wacky shit. Here'ss Polygon's review. They're claiming it's awash with bugs, is boring, is sexist (erm, Central Europe in 1403 was not known for progressive views on gender equality, people) and dredging up Gamergate. Again.

They also clearly haven't played it; not properly anyhow. They claim that the only priest you talk to is gluttonous and snide. Really? Father Godwin is a fucking legend. But the Vicar (the bloke sent down by the bishop of Prague to purge heretics in the "Waldensians" side quest) is frankly terrifying despite being a balding man in a brown robe. Because his sackcloth and ashes routine and the fact that he's a true believer and would sling you on the rack even though he's hired you makes him genuinely frightening. Women are either decorations or whores? Clearly he hasn't played the quests "The Sport of Kings" which is about a widow trying to get her late husband's horse-trading business taken seriously in a macho world, "Aquarius" in which a woman pushes herself forward for a man's job, or "At M'lady's Service."
It's almost like the reviewer gave it the once over then decided it wasn't morally deserving of a good score and wrote that half-arsed shit.
Also, I've not seen half as many bugs as people are alleging.
When wanting to know of how bad they play it, just look at DOOM. The way the video was in showing gameplay was something of a joke. As for politics, sure Vavra may as well be right-wing in the eyes of a guy from Burgerstan or Canuckland (or some Twitter spergs, considering some complaining about him and Kingdom Come can hail from a country like Germany or Britain) but those that want to know how the game is can care less about him and more on how the game is, especially from those that actually gave a good amount of time to play it.Nobody listens to Polygon anyway. They don't play games and when they try, they can't. Varva has the wrong politics, so it will get a bad review. While they'll praise some tranny visual novel as game of the year even though five people have heard of it and nobody played it. Honestly, their opinion never matters. When it comes to influencing things, they're inconsequential. The game is already on the Top Sellers list and has tons of hours played.
Once more, it doesn't matter your politics as long as your product is appealing. This is something they will never understand or grasp. And why they will always fail.

What games reviewing really needs is something like Amiga Power from the old days. A print mag that comes out once a month and gives honest and in-depth reviews.
Jesus, do I ever regret even reading just a paragraph of that Polygon article.
On another note, I just realized that I was not utilizing my horse's carrying capacity at all.
And I encountered my first really aweful bug. So, after killing some Bandits, I noticed that my mouseview was yanked in some direction occasionally. I thought it might be due to something being stuck in the mouse's sensor. I mounted my horse and quicktraveled to Rattay (with the bow still in hand), there, my mouseview was now constantly dragged down, checked my mouse and there was nothing. I then noticed that I couldn't move my character and when trying to dismount, Henry whistled (even though he was already in the saddle). Tried to save and load, which means I now spawn within the horse when loading the game and I am still stuck, even when quicktraveling to another place.
I don't know what caused this bug, but I have a feeling it might have been caused by quicktraveling with a weapon in hand.
This is important info like the amount of blacks and gender neutrals in the setting. Also, I've not seen half as many bugs as people are alleging.
The combat really stands out, I am wary of engaging more than two people at a time.
Liking the fast travel system as well. Fast traveling, get notified of a wayfarer, turns out to be a merry mercenary that wants to spar and wager on the outcome.
I have good armor, can take 2 opponents and pretty decent with blocking.
Get my shit wrecked while managing to land only one hit.
On another instance, huntig rabbits in a mission, stumble on a fight of 4 knights versus some Cumans.
Hop in for an easy kill, the cuman notices and bumrushes me, wrecks my shit. A kinght manages to strike him in the back while I am being beaten like a ragdoll, Cuman flees and we all take after him, run him down and I take as many valuable items I can while managing my inventory weight and trying to stop myself from bleeding to death.
This is the way I want to live.
