Know a couple of friends who got it and enjoyed the first one. They say its somewhat similar but isn't quite as fun as the previous. If I ever get the game it will be at a steep discount and preferably through a reseller.

Yeah, it's the fun thing about the cycle of revenge that people seem to forget. Somebody has to give a fuck after revenge is taken for there to be a cycle.
 
Honestly hearing the status of KCD2 is disappointing in my book. It made me hopeful that a rather historically accurate RPG could make it in the market so others might be more brave to do it as well. Though as per usual due to either malice, money reasons, or publisher fiat we get a game that leads more to cinematic slop than a compelling historically authentic tale.
