I will never get tired of posting this, but a reminder that Nolan fucking North pointed out that Ellie getting her revenge would have lead to zero mutilation, zero remorse, and zero consequences. Popping Abbie in the head would have instantly broken the cycle of revenge.

My favorite revenge story in recent media is Cass' loyalty questline from Fallout New Vegas.

Her revenge is quite justified and quite satisfying! However, it also winds up partly undermining the NCR bulwark against Legion encroachment.

...No big hurdle, just means me and Cass gotta kill more Legion dogs ourselves. Oh no! We have to do a job we enjoy and were already doing anyway! Whatever shall we do?
 
If you recruit Boone, that's a double whammy of a good revenge and redemption story, especially if you decide to take him around to shoot Legionaries up to and including raiding their base and killing their leader(bonus XP points from a challenge if you stab Ceasar with a knife for historical accuracy)
One of the few good moments in KCD2, where you actually take revenge on the faggot that killed your family and destroyed your village, and you're supposed to feel sorry for him and regret your actions.

Seeing how many KCD fanboys are surprisingly fine with two teenage boys kissing(or worse), I only dread what Vavra would think up of. Remember, he was the one that brought up 12 yr old girls marrying out of nowhere.
 
The funniest part about Musa of Mali to me is that he’s explicitly said in the codex to not be a real guy, and that acksully he’s kind of sorta based on Mansa Musa, but since including him in this game made absolutely no sense at all they had to add another paragraph about how this moroccan explorer “Ibn Battuta” who was born exactly 99 full years before the game takes place is totally the OTHER basis for this character. Now… let’s take a look on google at this “Ibn”… IMG_0543.jpeg
Oh… he’s not black… so they literally just made up a love child between this Muslim looking guy and Mansa Musa, specifically to make him blacker than coal. Other than his garb and skin color he has almost no similarities to the real world Musa.
Also gotta love how he refers to peeking at the bathmaids in almost a positive way despite a quest in the SAME LOCATION referencing how the bathmaids actually hate and get scared by the olive skinned foreigners who watch them, but this weirdo Muslim black guy doing it is okay and somehow charming?

The first huge red flag about this is at the very start of the game - codex admits that the first location you visit didn't have the iconic ponds for a few more hundred years. It could have been so interesting to see this location I've been to multiple times without the ponds, as it was back then - you know, exploring history first hand - the main premise of the whole fucking game. But no, lets fill it with water as it is now for no good fucking reason.
 
Codex in KCD = Pretty close to historical reality. Hans is still minor at this day.
Codex in KCD2 = A lot of retcons, discrepancies and even fictional characters. Hans Codex was edited like two times to put water into the fire.

What the fuck happened? Is really Vavra a faggot all along? How the first game is better?
