I find it kind of icky that everything is priced how it is.
Like, I get it but something about this bothers me.

ETA. @Lasagna4Dead that makes sense. Maybe I’m just still sad he’s gone.

And slightly irritated it cost $80 for gas today lolol.

My guess is it could be because he could be trying to make his money back from funeral and death costs. Just the cremation costs between 500 to 3000 dollars.

In regards to the pricing, you guys should keep in mind that after Cobra died someone sold one of his wands for 1200$.

The final price was higher this is just the only screenshot I have. 500$ for a staff doesn’t seem that crazy when you keep that in mind. Cobra was selling his wands for hundreds when he was still alive and he only made a couple hundred wands total. It’s just simple supply and demand. 200$ just for some movies is a lot though but the personal items I understand.

To everyone complaining about the prices, these items are collectable memorabilia and as such, are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.

Chris-chan silver coins were sold for about double the silver spot price at the time. Well, silver spot quadrupled then, so they are worth double that, at least in theory.

While I don't see the price of driftwood do the same, I'd expect an original Cobrawand soon appear on the market for a couple thousand and people will pay up.

I hope Clint has the presence of mind to include certificates of authenticity. If not, the buyers should be printing out the sales receipt and record of sale lot with images and have them notarized.

The rest of you poor men can seethe.

Oh and BTW, Clint should do something about rights to reprint physical copies of his music. Pretty sure the noise label doing it right now is bootlegging.

Edit: Deathbed tapes alluded to above are apparently an authorised distributor of Josh's music.

Are you talking about Deathbed? I don’t even think he’s doing tapes for him right now. Besides he was the guy who did tapes for Cobra’s music. His stuff is legit.

OK great. Well, Clint might want to take that in-house. If he takes time, cash and effort to stock up, he'll get a steady trickle of cash from people who want to own an original (albeit a re-print) Cobra tape/CDR, hell maybe even vinyl. It's not about the cash really as much as the legacy. In a decade, there will outsider music fags stroking their chin and nodding to this visionary outsider noise, like they do now to Jandek and The Shaggs.

Agreed. Complain all you like about high prices, but clearly people are willing to pay those prices. In fact, seeing how quickly things are selling, Clint is leaving money on the table by not pricing them higher.

When someone dies, those left behind do some combination of the following with their belongings:
  • Keep some - You'll want to keep some items that hold particular sentimental value or even practical utility. It's a nice way to remember great-grandma by breaking out her fine silverware set at family gatherings. Clint said in his original message that he's already decided which items he intends to keep to remember Josh by.
  • Sell some - It may sound crass to put a dollar value on a deceased loved one's belongings, but there are companies who specialize in exactly that -- coming in and facilitating estate sales for families.
  • Donate some - Of course, if selling your loved one's stuff is too distasteful for you, there's always the option of dropping everything off at Goodwill. A hipster can buy grandpa's old flannel shirt or grandma's decorative vase for a dollar.
  • Throw some away - There are some things that just shouldn't be sold or even donated. Nobody wants to sleep on a dead man's mattress, for example, so some things will inevitably just wind up in the dumpster.
So imagine you're Clint and you've got a trailer full of Josh's stuff. He can't keep it all - there's just not enough space. And many items aren't even necessarily appropriate to donate - Goodwill doesn't want bleach-stained pants, grease-covered pans, or even a custom Cobra alter[sic] -- general shoppers just won't buy them. So he's left with the choice of either selling them or just throwing them out. Knowing that Josh had many fans and followers who may be interested in owning some of it, I think it's nice that he's making it available to them. He is, of course, within his rights to use the proceeds in whatever way he chooses, but I think it's particularly noble that he intends to give at least some of the proceeds to charity.

You cant forget to add the amount it cost Clint to fly to England and put his ashes at big Ben.
Honestly, it would be cool to have King Cobra fans put together a fund to have his ashes stored at Big Ben or the Tower of London, along with his own plaque. It would actually make me want to go to London if that happened

TL;DR: Clint is selling Josh's stuff to fans
i pray the bogwitch gets absolutely nothing from this.
Clint could sell the modular mansion and recoup his money, surely he doesn't consider that Josh's debt. I struggle to fathom what kind of debt Cobes cold even be in, besides like $50 in the red on his paypal.
my guess is that cobes being dead messes up whatever lease he had for the lot in the trailer court so he has to either pay the rest of the lease off or move the trailer both of which most likely cost a fair amount. plus i have to imagine theres some medical debt as far as autopsy and things of that nature since i dont think cobes had life insurance or anything like that.

I like that idea, actually. Have Cobes' ashes mixed into cement or mortar and use it to place a brick at Big Bonger. No plaques though, I'm sure some insane anti would go piss on his plaque.

Buying his cookware is akin to buying a witch’s cauldron. You just know those things had some evil brewed in them.

Someone may want to let Clint know it might be a good idea to pull that object that looks like a smartphone in this lot:

It actually appears to be most of a smartphone, and enough of it might remain that personal information could be extracted from it.
