I never used to think, but after the tribute stream from his father. He probably had an undiagnosed or not properly treated schizoaffective disorder. If he responded to unseen stimuli, something was going on. But he grew up in Wyoming, in the 90's and not to insult Clint. Maybe Clint had poor mental health literacy regarding proper treatment for his son.
Josh has said before in one of his streams (I think during second apartment saga) that he has a diagnosis of schizophrenia among other things. His father Clint had went back to college to study psychology when Josh was a child so he could understand his needs better.

The hallucinations weren't limited to just hearing praise. During the tribute Clint said there was a time Josh thought he heard a lady insult him, but she actually never said anything.

I had been watching a lot of old videos of Josh, particularly of him talking about magic and summoning demons. When he would do a chi ball he would talk about seeing something there. When he would talk about summoning his inner demon he would talk about how his eyes would start changing color to red and ask the viewers if they saw it too, and how he had it caught on film. There were a lot of things like that he would say, and how he caught it on camera.

This was during the first apartment saga, I do remember at one point he said he did not have that diagnosis during that era so he must have gotten it sometime later.

I wonder how much of it is wishful thinking/edgy 12 year old mindset and how much is mental illness.
Cobes never struck me as having an active psychosis and genuinely believing he could do chi balls, all of his talk of magic etc always came off as him being perpetually stuck in a childlike mindset. Same with his weird idea of masculinity = eating spicy hot food.
His auditory hallucinations always felt more genuine but it didn't help that he'd have trolls feeding into his hallucinations or his daydreams like when he was sent a letter from Trump.

One thing I noticed that Cobes wasn't into when it came to manly-man stuff, was drinking super strong black coffee.
He did drink coffee in his younger years but yeah I don't think it was black coffee. It was most likely extremely sugary swill, with more than 50% milk.

Even the vastly inferior magician StyxHexenhammer666 will make ridiculous claims like this.

It's a parody Kung-Fu movie.

I'm not overly familiar with Styx but what little I do know of him, he comes off as a braggart and completely unsympathetic. There's no boyish charm with his claims, unlike Cobes. I will admit I have a positive bias towards Cobes and entirely negative feelings on Styx, so please do correct me if I'm mistaken.

Y'know, I bet I could do a tiered Cobra's mist cake... Like, you get those cake mix boxes, and you replace the water they ask for with whatever drink you want, and it makes a fun cake flavor. It's a fun experiment to mix and match cake flavors to drink flavors (I recently made a Dr. Pepper-Red Velvet for my husband's coworker and it kicked ass), but...in theory.....
You could make drink combos, *and* food hacks by layering these cakes, and adding more to them...
that sounds like a 7up cake. you dont even need a mix, you just stir up a basic yellow cake, add 7up, crushed nuts, coconut, and then make a cream cheese lemon/lime frosting..also, dr pepper cake sounds AMAZING

Yeah, that's what it is! You just use whatever soda instead of 7up. I tend to go for the white cake mixes, since they're more neutral, but it's fun to mix and match them.

Cobes would also have said that wanting to have sex with owls is for sickos.
"When I get my service raven, the trolls want me to have sex with it. They're sickos and everyone knows I love animals just as much as I love Ozzy, man. Birds are as precious as children and rock & roll, and that's the thing of it toobz"
