What doctors and hospital are you imagining? Josh likely died the 19th after his last video, Clint came to pick him up forte a counseling appointment the 21st and found him very dead.
I was under the assumption Clint took him to the hospital the day before he passed, but the timeline is still a bit hazy.
Clint was in Europe when Josh was sick, but he then came back and i think i read somewhere he took Cobra to the hospital, but i still don't know for a fact how things went down.

The only thing I want to know is whether the doctors knew
I have a feeling that cobes was not attending his yearly checkups where typically a doctor would be documenting these things
something tells me he was also missing his routine scheduled teeth cleanings.

I assumed - incorrectly - that Clint took him to the hospital after he came back from Europe, but apparently i was mistaken, so my bad.

Fuck, somehow the thought never crossed my mind that he might've passed right after the fb video. It's pretty depressing to think that he could've been lying deceased in his chair like that for a couple days. (:_(

Since all we'll be doing in this thread is looping from now on, I'll add my perspective on the classic "Is Clint a bad dad?" loop.

I'll use a sports analogy. I, myself, have precisely zero athletic ability. I imagine myself trying out for a football team. I lack the arm strength and accuracy to make good passes. I lack the speed necessary to evade defenders. I would barely be able to stand up again after being tackled just once by an average sized player. By all accounts, my abilities (or lack thereof) would make me a BAD football player.

But what if I tried really hard? What if I loved the game of football so much that I wanted to participate despite my shortcomings?
I would train relentlessly -- lifting weights, running sprints, and studying past players to learn as much as I could and attempt to emulate them. I would give it my all at every opportunity, taking a beating in the process. I'd be like Rudy in the eponymous movie.

Was Rudy a good football player? The stats say no. He played a few minutes of garbage time in a single game and never played again at any level. But you can't deny his passion, his determination, and his love of the game. In that sense, he couldn't have been any better.

Clint is the Rudy of dads. What he lacked in ability, he made up for in effort. He tried his damnedest to do what was best for the boy every chance he got, and that should be commended.

Taking the football analogy just a bit too far, it's easy to "Monday morning quarterback" the situation and point out all sorts of things that could have been done differently, but it's different when you're there in real time -- and who knows if any of those changes would have even made a positive difference?

I think the biggest detriment is just how relatively late Josh received his autism diagnosis. Wasn't he already a teenager? When he got the diagnosis, Clint immediately enrolled in classes to learn how to work with him, but with only a few short years before Josh turned 18, there just wasn't enough time to make enough of a difference.
If Clint had known earlier, I have no doubt that he would have given Josh the support that he needed in a way that he would be receptive to -- and likely would have resulted in a much better outcome all around.

Clint said he went to Cobes' trailer to take him to the doctor, and found him unresponsive, his lips blue.

i was pretty 50/50 on clint because of how little we knew about their relationship. in the immediate aftermath of learning about cobras passing i was livid with clint i wanted someone to blame and i chose him i was so heart broken with the thought of cobes dying alone in pain. when i found out clint was actually the one to find him and cobra died in his sleep i regretted my ill will torwards clint and now im firmly into the clint was the best dad for josh camp anyway fuck sickos

I'd prefer a persona-like where you solve a paranormal mystery. You need a dedicated fart button with an .05% chance of shitting yourself and ending the stream early.
I'm thinking just a simple game about a man out to get cigarettes. A man that is highly regarded, can control the weather... And gets hopelessly stuck daydreaming at stop signs.

I like this as well, even if it treads closely to the "quirky Earthbound inspired RPG" genre that plagued the late 2010s. Do you get to fight inanimate objects like fridges?

Damn straight.
Your weapons are goth rings, and your armor is hats.
I think you're on to something with this. I could totally envision a boglim-lite trying to walk 4 or 5 blocks to the local Loaf n' Jug, and every time he stops his brain opens into some made-up scenario based on the area around him.

Disagree - you have a berserk meter. If you don't get cigarettes in time, you have to fight your hat.

Edit: Missed opportunity if his attacks aren't spells cast from wands. Use the lathe like a smithing table in Elden ring. New mats (sticks/rocks/fire opal drops from crazy ex girlfriends) allow you to craft more powerful wands. You could even look at sold copies and make in-game versions match.

Edit 2: Frogger-esque mini-game where you have to change traffic lights to get across the street.

Hat mimics could be an option. Alternatively, your hat is like a Tainted Jacob and Esau from Binding of Isaac situation where smokes, hard boiled eggs, dank food hacks, etc., all keep the beast placated. Busch Peach gives you massive buffs but enrages the Hat Demon.

My main reason for choosing hats, is that I like RPGs with visual differences as you get new loot.
Maybe everyone in your party can do magic, so you always have wands available... And I envisioned Cobes as a monk kind of character, so while he does sick magic, he can also punch the shit out of you, his fists enhanced with chi balls.

My idea for the "story" is just that: the cigarette is the princess in another castle. It's just Cobes getting lost in the daydreams on his way there. Clint talking about him doing just that on his driver's examine that inspired me.

I'm primarily a pixel art person, so I just want to keep any rpg maker idea easy.
