The fundamental issue with redditors is that they're constantly swept up in this autistic moralistic fervor akin to the fucking chinese cultural revolution, where the top principle is "be a good heckin' person", and where "good person" means whatever the fuck they want. So instead of just being a rancid cyberbullying site with a thread that makes fun of retarded babies and knowing that that's a pretty awful thing to do, it's instead of a continuous religious crusade against the "bad people", resulting in disabled autistic people being force fed poison until they fucking die from it, but it's OK because puff or because they said the word faggot once.
It was pretty early on, when the site was still just about Chris Chan, where I started to tell people: don't justify making fun of him, because you shouldn't have to. If you feel bad about doing something, it's probably a bad thing to do. If you have to cope about him calling Obama a nigger to justify doing something you feel is bad, you're probably behaving like a fucking psychopath. It was not until recently that I realized how wise that sentiment was because it saved us from being a snark subreddit and I'd probably be in jail by now.
