I joined entirely to lurk and never expected I would actually post anything whatsoever. I had no desire to post, and nothing to contribute. But this is an exception.

RIP Josh, you were one of the few good ones. You weren't a pedophile, you weren't some other vague, unspecified flavor of monstrous freak. You were just a weird, funny dude who never hurt anybody except himself. You deserved better
 
The only smile I’ve gotten today was reaching one of his fart tracks while listening to his cassette. I missed out so I only have two of his albums, I wish I had his whole discography. I’m going to miss his goofy fucking humor so much.

He couldn't have done anything realistically. Cobes simply wasn't dysfunctional enough for a court to grant his father conservatorship over him which is what it would have taken to unfuck his life. Besides the substance abuse the dude clearly had oppositional defiance disorder and was going to fight any well-intentioned guidance the whole time. If Clint had pushed too hard Cobes would have cut him out his life and this probably would have happened earlier.
 
Our kids are supposed to outlive us. For a parent to lose a child, it's an unimaginable tragedy.

He was a grown man who could make his own decisions. Short of getting power of attorney over him and locking him in a nursing home, Clint couldn't have done shit about it.
