Stupid as it sounds some of the really early experiments into extremely high temperature crucibles involved displacing the oil with water, part firing them then letting them drain any remaining oils out then adding a secondary refractory layer, then firing them again - I've got the documentation some place but it didn't really work outside Small lab / assay furnaces as you couldn't get all the Oil's out in larger units and they polymerised then broke catastrophically, apparently there is a renewed interest in the field but for other materials and the retained oil is a feature not a bug.

Nha going of his history it's something like some showy all style no substance bit of tat from BudK, he seems to think thats a high value gift.
