I really think Clint was too harsh. I find it unethical to use punishment as means to produce better behavior, and it’s clinically been shown to be ineffective. Unless Cobes actually had a job that required shorter hair, it probably wasn’t necessary. Now, if Clint just gave verbal praise more often when Cobes did appropriate behaviors (like wearing deodorant regularly, brushing teeth, or doing dishes), that may have helped too. He could even have used delayed reinforcement with a token economy where he could work for things like gift cards, hobby items, etc. I guess I would have a way different approach than Clint when working with a case like Cobra’s.
